Excellent Hotel
We picked this hotel over the Hotel St Paul in St Paul village and the Ch¿¿vre d'Or in Eze based mostly on location. We wanted a hotel with easy in-and-out access for day trips by car. The other hotels are locked in tiny villages with no easy car access. This hotel is a very nice resort-type hotel, with a huge pool area and extensive gardens. The rooms are distributed around the pool area in separate buildings. Our room was in the Mas Estelle, with a large terrace and a great view of the surrounding countryside. The decor is traditional Provencal with a modern bathroom with separate tub and shower. The hotel is a couple of miles south of St Paul village. It's a 5-10 minute drive to the village. Parking is easy with a large structure just outside the town entrance. The village is immaculate and very touristy, consisting almost entirely of art galleries (about 75 or so), shops and lunch cafes. The hotel has an underground garage and getting in and out of the hotel is dead easy. Access to the Autoroute (A8) is also easy (about ten minutes). We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant (it's supposed to be excellent), but breakfast was very good. We found that St Paul, being a day-trip town, offers very little by way of dinner restaurants. We drove into Vence for dinner every night.Service was excellent. All of the staff were efficient and very friendly and almost all of them speak English.

Fabulous place to relax, great location, beautiful rooms, attentive staff
Location: We stayed for a long weekend in this fabulous hotel. Situated in St. Paul de Vence it's only 20 min. by car from the airport, and it's the perfect location to explore the area. Luckily this hotel in not directly in the center of St. Paul, so you can enjoy the quiet and peaceful garden and pool area. (But I have to admit we didn't hit high season - so it will probably get quite busy during summer). The style and decoration of the hotel fits well in the countryside. It combines modern and classical elements in a nice way. Here and there you stumble upon lovely details, like a herb or vegetable garden, sculptures etc. The modern lounge beds around the pool invite to relax, and you can enjoy your sundowner in the outdoor jacuzzi next to the pool. Our room (suite) was super tidy and spacious, with a little private garden. Cleaning was done every day while we were at breakfast. The staff was very supportive, e.g. with suggesting restaurants in the area and making reservations, parking our car etc.We stayed one night at the hotel for dinner. They were very flexible with extra wishes regarding the menu. The food was good, but portions were rather small. Breakfast was good, too, (although I have to admit that you could do even better) and again, extra wishes (like a decaf cappuccino) were never a problem.

Lovely hotel, beautiful surroundings and rooms however bad stay!
Upon arrival around 7:30pm we were checked in and shown our rooms and facilities promptly (which were beautiful). Receptionist was excellent! However had booked in for dinner at the restaurant for 8 o'clock through email sent prior to coming and no one had made the reservation for us! Luckily the restaurant wasn't too full when we arrived and got a table straight away! Our waitress was Margaux she was very attentive and spoke great English. We had a lovely meal, the lamb was excellent however we thought the portions were quite small. When heading off to bed we were told that the rooms would have air conditioning although this was very complicated to turn on and the room was too hot = not a great sleep! The next day reception told us that the air con was completely turned off and that they could not run heating and air con at the same time and would not be on until the next day! They sent up some fans to the room which cooled it down a bit.Breakfast was buffet style and was lovely again with a wide selection of foods to eat. Again waiters very attentive! We decided to eat again in the restaurant after the last meal was very tasty, althought this time was not a great experience. The service was very slow, we had to wait 40 minutes for our main course and then 15 minutes for the bill! Of course the staff were very apologetic. After breakfast the following morning (good service and food again) the showers and taps had no hot water to which a technician had to be sent up to both rooms to fix. We had appointments that day resulting in a cold shower until they were fixed!Altogether a disappointing stay in a lovely hotel with fantastic facilities. Tea and coffee in the rooms would be a good idea as I always like a cup before bed.

Very pretty property, BUT
Pretty room, lovely property--but we had a hard time controlling the temperature in the room--it stayed at 75 to 78 F, even when we turned the heat down and we could not get it to stop heating. . We were told they hadn't turned the A/C on yet- and would be doing so the following weekend--so there was no way of cooling the room. Since it was in the mid 50s outside--we had to sleep with the door open--as it was the only opening to the room. We were on the ground floor and I was not entirely comfortable with leaving the ground floor door open all night. We ordered room service, and our food arrived promptly and was delicious.

Not what was portrayed on website, 5star hotel but sadly not experience
We booked a room with double and single bed, to find that upon arrival we were only offered a tiny room with double and sleeper couch. Furniture was damaged, tatty and room not pristine. We were told that extra bed is not as comfortable as the couch as it was of a very average quality with a thin mattress. We insisted on the extra bed , (as that is what we ordered and paid for)as the couch would have taken up all remaining space and wouldn't allow us to use the room or walk around comfortably. They then agreed that they will add a bed, but without removing the couch! So still no result, eventually the managares offered us an extra bedroom at no extra cost. Thank you for this.We requested if we could have lunch on the terrace, but management decided that they were not serving on the terrace that day, so we had lunch on our balcony to soak up some spring sunshine. All requests seem to have to go down a chain of command. A small tip: a can-do attitude would have changed our view, management, allow your staff to make decision without having to double and tripple-check. Hotel grounds are beautiful, amazing setting and could be 5 star with a little tlc.Invest some money on a good interior designer as the rooms require a luxury look.
