Perfect Weekend
I was treated to a nights stay at Lythe Hill Hotel and Spa. The room was spacious, clean and modern, service was impeccable and facilities were lovely. I had a full body massage and made full use of the spa facilities which I could not fault. We had a lovely dinner in the restaurant and the breakfast was also very good. I would highly recommend the hotel, especially in the summer to enjoy the beautiful grounds. A very enjoyable and relaxing weekend!

A lovely escape
Mum and I went on a one night escape break on an offer. Dinner, bed and breakfast package. We had a twin room at ¿¿65.00 per person. We had Ainworth room which was very clean and spacious. We had a fantastic evening meal and breakfast. Grounds and spa all wonderful to relax in.

Really enjoyed our stay
We stayed at Lythe Hill for a wedding and were really impressed by the quality of the accommodation. We stayed in an executive room in the new block and ended up with an enormous suite. I visited a couple of friends rooms and they can all be quite different. For example, a friend was in an executive room in the old house and it was like staying in a different hotel. Equally nice, just a completely different feel. My room was modern and had a french boutique feel. Hers was mahogany furniture and antiques. I would strongly suggest booking one in the new part if you are tall - i don't think my 6f4 husband would have fitted into the Tudor one! The beds in both were amazingly comfortable.Breakfast was really nice and the grounds are also beautiful. I regretfully didn't visit the spa but would do next time. The only reason I haven't given the hotel 5 stars is that the rack rates are quite high. We paid very reasonable prices though as we were there for a wedding and would definitely return if we could get another good deal. Definitely recommend for weddings!

Don¿¿¿t waste your money ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿so extremely disappointing
My husband and I booked a two night stay on 23 March 2013 after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. However, we have never been so disappointed with a hotel. On arrival we were disenchanted by the appearance of the modern part of the hotel. The reception staff were however very pleasant and we were shown to our room named ¿¿¿Churchill¿¿¿. Our early impression was not great as along the length of the corridor were piles of dirty laundry (this was about 3.30 in the afternoon). On entering the room we were extremely dissatisfied with the standard and we immediately asked if there were any rooms available in the Tudor part but were told ours was the only room available in the hotel. We were advised we could move the next day, at an additional cost, which we initially agreed to do. We decided to try and be positive and collected our luggage, without the help of a porter. We then decided to try the Spa. It was a cold day and the 150-200 metre walk to the Spa is down a very slippery path. Yet another disappointment. The pool area was packed out ¿¿¿ nowhere to sit and dirty towels and empty paper cups lying around everywhere. The changing area could also do with a good clean. Certainly not a relaxing environment. Furthermore, it is not clearly apparent from the hotel website that the Spa is open to non residents which would explain why it was so busy.We had looked forward to the break and since it was getting late, we felt we had no alternative but to stay. However we made some calls to another hotel in the area where we have stayed previously and luckily they had availability for the next evening so we cancelled our booking in the Tudor building for the next night. Since no other room was available we felt it was pointless complaining any further and decided that we would take up all our issues with the Manager at a later date. Unfortunately the excitement and enjoyment of our stay had already gone. From previous comments the Hotel Manager has written on TripAdvisor I don¿¿¿t think he fully appreciates that people come away for a relaxing time, which often takes a lot of organising and planning and they don¿¿¿t necessarily then want to take up more time sorting out issues that cannot be resolved. To describe the room it has a very dated 70¿¿¿s feel. The carpets looked like they needed at good clean, the furniture old-fashioned and needs repainting, the chair was torn, wall paper was badly marked, plug socket coming off the wall, dusty glass shelves, tired and dusty lampshades, other chairs and bed extremely uncomfortable. Noise between the rooms is terrible ¿¿¿ you can hear every sound. The bathroom was a disgrace, tired, dated and not particularly clean. Toilet did not always flush properly, mould round the bath, grouting and tiles dirty, no chain on the plug so difficult to empty, shower door didn¿¿¿t close properly and water was not particularly hot. The Hotel grounds are tired and unkempt. We had dinner in the Tudor restaurant which was average and certainly overpriced, although the staff were again polite and friendly. Breakfast was disappointing and not what I would expect from this level of hotel. The hot buffet choices were overcooked and barely warm with supplies running out and not being refilled in a timely manner. We did book at the last minute and I acknowledge we didn¿¿¿t pay the full rate, however we did expect a better standard and it was certainly not worth the ¿¿70 we did pay for the room. We have stayed in various hotels across the scale but have to say that we¿¿¿ve stayed in Travel Lodges that were cleaner, more comfortable and a better overall standard. On checking out we did explain we were unhappy with our stay and asked to see the Manager. We were told he was not on duty. We explained that we would contact him on our return home since the reception area was busy with people checking out and we didn¿¿¿t want to make a scene.I have never before felt the need to write a bad review

Fabulous
Just had a weekend here having visited once before about a year ago. When we first visited the experience was perfect and just what you'd expect from a luxury country house hotel. This time I couldn't help but wonder if it wouldn't be the same. I was wrong. Everything from the rooms, the service, the food, the staff was exceptional. The grounds are beautifully tranquil and after enjoying a truly great massage in the spa we took a stroll down to the pond followed by relaxing on the terrace with a perfectly chilled glass of Chablis and watched the world go by ( or should I say the ducks and rabbits go by). A perfect weekend
