Modern efficient clean and easy on the beach
This is a clean modern efficient Marriott hotel right on the beach in Barcelona and very close to the airport. It is not your usual choice if you want to be down town Barcelona for the usual sights. However, that is only a 15 to 20 minute cab ride away.The AC Hotel is 50 yards away from one of Barcelona's best restaurants in my view, El Torreon, which you simply must go to for lunch or dinner. Ideal for a weekend stay Saturday dinner or Sunday long lunch. As usual in Spain dinner doesn't really kick off until 10pm.The beach is also a lovely long walk with some great bars and cafes along the way to relax in. Gets nicely busy at weekends with the locals out having fun - roller blading, biking, fishing etc.As for the hotel, it is modern and clean. Rooms have all you need but are certainly not plush or luxurious. Bathrooms are fine, shower pressure and temperature a little variable at times.Fairly standard buffet breakfast. The hotel has an underground car park for EUR15 per night as parking around there can be difficult.If taking a cab to the hotel be sure to ask for Gava Mar near Castelldefels That is what the taxi drivers know.

Nice Place Right on the Beach
This is a nice, clean hotel with a pool directly on the beach. If you're looking for a place near the tourist sites in Barcelona, this ain't it. However, it you're looking for a beautiful location to just chill, this is your place. Also, we stayed here on our last night in Barcelona because it's close to the airport.

close to the beach, with a pool
good location - i was there already three times. THe taxi driver always have a problem to find it. The GPS does not recognize the street.Anyway, close to beach - and the food is good. Excellent coffee.However, it is not close to the center - but the taxis in barca are not expensive. So, the 15min ride does not matter.

Very pleased
Spent two nights here after three night in downtown bcn and what a great way to end my trip. The negative reviewers need to rethink!!!The hotel is not close to any of Barcelonas main sights...it is smack dab on the beach in Gava del Mar which is just south of the airport. The pool is nice and the beach is long, water warm and people watching superb . There are somewhat limited food options nearby, but the Crepe place is great and there are a few other options as well. Don't know if I'd want to be here for 4+ days but for two quick days at the beach it was perfecto!

Ticked all the boxes!
Having never been to Barcelona, it was quite a task to choose a hotel that 'ticked all the boxes.' this one did that. Quiet part of town, beach, pool, parking, breakfast. We were very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service provided by the staff at all levels. Rooms and grounds kept very clean, front desk and hospitality staff kind and accommodating, and food at breakfast and pool bar was very nicely done. This is not a 5 star, and it doesn't pretend to be. But for what it is, it was great!
