Good value if you prepay
As a business traveler I was looking for a good hotel and a reasonable rate. With previous experience at the Hilton Bracknell, I was happy to find a great rate on the Hilton (Bracknell) web site, as long as I was willing to prepay for the stay. The hotel is not new and the rooms reflect the smaller European expectations for a room. Space for storage of clothing was practically non-existent forcing the use of my suitcase for some items. The hot water faucet for the bathroom sink fit the British term "wonky" to a tee. To get hot water you had to both turn the valve as well as pull out. Obviously in need of replacement. I was seriously concerned about slipping in the tub when taking a shower; a safety mat would have been appreciated. The restaurant in the hotel has a great selection for breakfast. Be sure to talk to them in advance about whether your "package" includes the breakfast and dinner or not. Without this being included, it is prohibitively expensive. Use of a local pub is not only less expensive, but a whole lot more enjoyable. Plenty of local, fun pubs to choose from. The best in my opinion is The Golden Retriever, not too far away. You will need transportation if you want to sample the pubs.

not really a Hilton
It is a fair hotel, if you are on a businesstrip. It urgently requires lots of refurbishment. Service is good, people are friendly and helpfull. Wouldn't go there with my familiy (but who would go to Bracknell if not on a Businesstrip)Even HHonors Gold is not helping much other then getting an upgrade to a large room... I was expecting more from a HIlton Hotel.

Look for another Hilton before booking this one
The entrance, lobby and food areas are good. The rest of the hotel including the bedrooms are very tired and dated. A new design is greatly needed, just some paint and some basic maintenance is needed.

In Need of Some TLC
I generally try to balance the good and bad in my reviews, but here it was difficult to find much positive to say.The good news probably relates to the decor on the ground floor and the smiling welcome from the reception team. Arrival was very good - the car park had ample spaces and I was made to feel important at check in. Come to think of it, check out was good too.And there the good ends. I had a room on the 4th floor - a room which, on the face of it, should have been good. It was large, had a good sized bathroom with separate, walk in shower complete with side jets. However the first thing I found was that the air con unit didn't work (it just said "error" and turned itself off) so the room was hot. Then the freestanding light flickered and went out. And in the bathroom I noticed a small trail of water around the toilet leading me to believe it was leaking. Oh and the tiles on the shower step were coming away. The bed wasn't up to the normal Hilton standard either - it was OK but nothing special. I had dinner in the bar - a rather dry steak and kidney pudding which was nevertheless hearty and filling.Breakfast is served in the restaurant. On the morning I was there, much of the restaurant was not in use. Unfortunately the brighter area near the windows had been closed and everyone was crammed into the darker, internal seating areas. Staff didn't notice that items on the buffet needed replenishing so the dishes sat empty for some time. And when they did come out, they hadn't seen a heat source for some time.So, in summary I have to say it was a pretty poor experience for a Hilton. Previous comments here do suggest that the hotel is due its makeover and I would certainly support that thought. The sooner the better, please.

more like a budget hotel
we arrived to a cheery receptionist ,who said that we had an upgrade and read to us where to find the room etc.walked to the room to the extended part of the hotel and felt let down ,the room was made up for a family,even though we only requested for a couple and a double,none of the upgrade items were in the room,i.e the slippers,wine,chocolate and robes,as this was a birthday surprise.had to ring for the items,no choice of wine,only red was given.and when we returned to our hotel later that evening,was greeted with someone using the front wall as a urinal and a large party going on,girls with drink outside swearing and smashed glasses.totally let the place down and lots of car doors slamming.very disappointed.a comment form was left but yet to recieve any response.prints up the wall,looked like cats paw prints?
