Great location, but needs lots of improvements!
Were looking for a hotel away up in the hills with tennis court and swimming pool, and came across this hotel.Despite the very bad reviews we booked a room, a junior suite with view, balcony and large double bed.POSITIVE: Room was large and clean, view fabulous, checkout 12.00 perfect, tennis courts to rent, very nice heated pool and garden. Beautiful location and near outdoor activities.NEGATIVE: Service minimal, waiter/waitress in main restaurant not very pleasant, they were frowning at us for not ordering an aperitif before dinner and behaved very strange, no smile or friendliness what so ever. Cold quiet empty restaurant, could do with better menu (could do with adding a burger and some risotto on the menu, like most hotels would have! Really! Check out Negresco and the Ritz!) Restaurant could also do with a serious makeover, remove lamps in front of window so you can see the beautiful view at night and add some nice hardwood floor and some plants perhaps, to make the ambience more friendly and less "cold".Breakfast minimal, hardly anything available, was included in price, but if not would never pay Euro 20 for a coffee and a yogurt... luckily the second day 2 new waiters were there, that actually smiled and helped carry our tray which made experience more pleasant. Room was quite old looking with very old TV with very few channels that made lots of noise, so had to unplug it at night. Shower tap wrongly fitted, so cold water gave warm and warm gave cold, room key very strange and old, hard to open door.Would love to see this hotel renovated and with more service minded staff in restaurant and better family friendly menu. Only stay here if you get a very very good rate with breakfast included and have no expectations what so ever.

Very good BUT could do with a make over
The location is superbThe people are very accomodating (I had to change my dates), and very friendly.The room was superb with a balcony with views from Nice to Cannes.The breakfast on the balcony in the morning was exceptional.We paid a reduced prices for the room/evening meal/breakfast so we felt it was worthwhile. BUTThe place needs a make over, the toilet did not work properly, the electrics (plugs and switches) date from 30 years ago. The wallpaper was dated. The furniture did not match the standing.The food was good BUT the presentation was basic (we were demi pension). We noticed those who had the menu had a better presentation. The wine list was limited. Many of the plants were on their last legs. The garden chess game was broken. If they improve it, then it is worth the full price, if they do not, then bewarned.

Renovate it now !
Very nicely located, great view, calm and quiet but it seems so old. Might be perfect at the 80's but my opinion is that it needs to be renovated. The reception desk was helpful, if you wanted a drink at the bar you should wait for hours, they even charge for the slippers in order to use the spa. The restaurant was good but not something extraordinary. I had a good deal for the room so I'm not complaining, it was a "great value for price" for me but it's a waste if you have to pay 170 euro for a night with these facilities.

Great value for price!
I booked Le Mas on the internet and got a very good rate of less than 100 euros for a double. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were offered a junior suite overlooking the sea and St Paul for only 30 euros more! Since it was off season and the hotel was not fully booked, it was a great offer on their part and made our stay even that more enjoyable. Granted the hotel does need an update to qualify for a four star, it still has a cache about it that others don't.

If renovated it would be top
We stayed at Les Mas Artigny during our last holiday on the French Riviera.THe hotel is nice and located on a calm hill near St Paul de Vence. Most unfortunately it is tired and would need a big renovation. Years ago it was part of the Relais et Chateaux and was very famous. Now it appears to be a congress place that could have a great potential.At their new spa the ladies are very professional but the modern decor doesnt' match, in my opinion, with the provencal style of the building. If a big renovation took place, we would come back.
