Quality endures
I had not eaten in the main dining Hall at Bodysgallen since before the National trust had taken ownership of the property. However, I can assure any potential diners that it has lost none of the previous ambience and the food quality and service remain impeccable. My wife and I dined there recently to celebrate our wedding anniversary and it was an epicurean delight. We enjoyed a superb meal served by a welcoming and highly efficient "front of house" team, the perfect evening. We spent last year's anniversary at the Metropole Hotel in Monte Carlo and despite their chef's multiple michelin stars he provided a repaste which acheived nowhere near the outstanding quality of dining provided for us by Chef Cheetham and his team at Bodysgallen.

Beautiful property, so-so room
Nothing is more charming than driving up to a beautiful old Welsh estate with fields filled with sheep and their newborn lambs on either side of the lane. The house is beautiful, both inside and out, in an elegant old countryside way. Most notable of all are the gardens -- they are stunning! I cannot even imagine what it must take to maintain the property. Unfortunately, the raves end there. Our room was in a cottage, pretty both inside and out. Steps up to the door are uneven and difficult to navigate. The bathroom was dated and had a steep step up into it, not a good feature for a visit to the loo in the middle of the night. Nearly ended up flat on my face on the way back out. Food in the dining room was fair, nothing to rave about.

Great National Trust Property
Stayed for 2 nights over the bank holiday and the Hotel is really classy. On the outskirts of Llandudno so a car is a must. An old historic house that has been converted to a Hotel that is owned by the National Trust. Lovely garden and a very atmospheric hotel. We stayed in a one of the cottages which had two seperate bedrooms and bathrooms. Great for us as we had an elderly realative with us. It was quite a steep walk to the hotel. The spa and restaurant are both top quality. A very peacful hotel.

A Taste Of Heaven
From the moment the heavy oak door is opened for you on arrival by a smiling welcoming member of staff prepare yourself for an indulgent break. The hall is wonderfully furnished with antiques in keeping with the age of this fine building, yet it is wonderfully comfortable. Our bedroom was spacious with superb views towards Snowdonia and the coast and so quiet, guaranteeing very peaceful nights. The bistro and particularly the main restaurant offer an excellent menu using local produce and the food is delicious. We enjoyed strolling around the beautiful historic gardens of the hall which appear to be tended by National Trust gardeners as is the fabulous National Trust Bodnant Garden which is close by. Our stay was a little taste of heaven and we would highly recommend it. A big thank you to the Bodysgallen staff for ensuring that we enjoyed every minute - we really didn't want to leave.

Wedding anniversary
We arrived to a warm welcome and a blazing log fire in the entrance hall. We chose to stay in a cottage which was just perfect in the grounds of the Hall. We ate at both restaurants the food was superb and the service was both professional and friendly. We were particularly impressed with the bistro restaurant which offers great value for money. They also offer the facility for private dining which would be fantastic for a group be it family, friends or work function. Breakfast is served in the restaurant over looking the grounds with Conwy castle in the distance it really takes you back in time.Bodysgallen Hall is convenient for sight seeing the North West of Wales and to return for a relax in the spa makes for a perfect day.I first stayed in the hotel 10 years ago and was just captivated by the views, rooms, food and service and it has not changed a bit. It is one of those little gems.
