The best Novotel I ever stayed in
This is perhaps the best Novotel that I have ever stayed in.Impressed from the lobby, very beautiful with games consoles to keep one occupied. The gym and steam room on the 18th floor is also well equipped and beautiful. The room is in good order except I have a blown bulb in my room. You have quiet corners for work or to go online.Gallieni metro station is just beside the hotel so getting around is very convenient. Paris Metro leaves much to be desired.

Staff excellent
Stayed with my 2 sisters for our long whit weekend. The hotel was great. It was so close to the metro not even 5 mins which took us quickly to the centre of Paris - you were on the line 3 which was handy as you just jumped off at Opera or Republic(10 mins) where you could go into heart of city. The staff were very friendly and treated us so well. They were very security conscious as one of my sisters went back to the room and had her key but as the door was open with the cleaning lady and she walked straight in but the cleaning lady stopped her and made her use her key card. Very impressive. Printed off our boarding passes. I walked around the area yesterday and felt safe even went shopping in the big shopping mall which was great. Yes you do take care of your mobile phone and handbag but that is same everywhere in the world.

Good value hotel
This is a good value hotel - clean and friendly. The surrounding area does appear to be a bit run down, however, we've walked through late night on several days of our stay and there was no unruly behaviour and we didn't feel unsafe at all. Its a 2 minute walk from the Gallieni station on line 3 and takes under 20 minutes to get into centre of Paris. There is also a supermarket and Mc Donald's in the shopping mall above the Metro station. The hotel offers free wi-fi, and unlike many of our past experiences, this one has excellent connectivity. So all in all a good place to stay.

Recommended
We booked this hotel for four nights on a limited budget and price was definitely a factor. We visit Paris regularly and have had some pretty bad value for money experiences more in the centre so thought that we would give this a try. We were very pleasantly surprised.......whilst the hotel is on the edge of the centre of Paris (just outside the peripherique) and at the last metro stop on the line (Gallieni) the hotel is very easy and quick to get to and most places in Paris can be accessed easily within half and hour. Whilst the neighbourhood is a little mixed (they close shut you other shopping bags with electrical ties on entry into the local supermarket and we did see a fight in there) we didn't feel at all any more threatened than in any other part of Paris and the staff at the hotel were very accommodating. The hotel is huge, 609 bedrooms apparently, the rooms themselves are wildly huge by Paris standards and clean too. Overall we were very satisfied with the value for money of this hotel and would definitely stay there again, in fact compared to other PAris hotels we have stayed in in the past the value for money was exceptional. If you look at this hotel on google earth it looks as though you need to get accross a huge tangle of large roads to get to the metro station which made us a little hesitant when booking. In actual fact the entrance to the metro is underneath these roads and just a short walk from the hotel with no major roads to cross.One interesting aspect of staying here was that it prompted us to explore some places in the east side of Paris which we have not visited on numerous previous visits, for example the Buttes Chaumont park. We have visited Pere Lachaise on numerous previous occasions but this is also only a few stops from the hotel.

Horrific security arrangements
Security arrangements at the hotel are terrible. My wife's handbag was stolen from the restaurant while we were having breakfast on 31 May 2013. When we reported the matter to the hotel staff their attitude towards the entire incident was pathetic. The public areas have not been covered by cctv, knowing fully well that the property is prone to incidents of this nature. Tourists should stay away from such hotels.
