A high rate for a cupboard in the attic where you could hardly swing a cat
This hotel had us in stitches from start to finish. It was like an Indian version of Fawlty Towers with it's hilarious disregard for its clientele. I found out later that people on the ground floor had a cheaper room rate for a relatively palatial room than we did for a tiny poky attic room that had a cupboard for an en-suite and towel rings that were falling off the wall. The shower room was so awful that my Sister wouldn't even go in there except to use the loo, after which you had to cross the room to use the basin! We banged our heads so many times on the walls trying to use the sockets and appliances that we practically had concussion! Having to get up for breakfast by 9.20 on a Sunday after a late night was frankly ridiculous so we didn't even attempt breakfast, which given the state of the room was probably just as well. If they had discounted the room for such bad facilities it would have been much more acceptable but for some reason this place seems to think it can charge a four star price for a rundown attic room. Never again!!!!

Not worth the title of 3 stars.
From the moment I saw the outside of the "hotel" I knew it was going to be a disaster, but as I was only staying one night didnt mind too much. The "receptionist" (if you would even call him that) seemed scared to conversate with us or even make us feel like we were wanted there.the room was situated on the ground floor and when we walked in I felt colder inside then I did when I was out. My partner went and asked about heating and we were provided rather quickly with a small but rather efficient electric heater. We had that on for the vast majority of the night as the room was exceedingly cold. The tv was the size of an ipad which made it difficult to watch tv while in bed. When falling asleep you could vividly hear the people upstairs moving their chairs and playing music which wasn't actually that loud. We were awaken by water pipes making a rather awkward noise. Ifeft reluctant to use the toilet as it was basically a wardrobe with a shower and toilet plonked inside. The sink was situated in the room which was rather odd.. We were provided with one hand towel for 2 adults staying in a double room. We didn't even bother with breakfast as the hotel seemed shoddy enough without attempting to eat the badly reviewed food. We were told that check out time was 10.30am but at 10am were startled to hear someone trying to enter the room and only failing due to my partner leaving the keys in the door from the night before. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone really. Even if your on a budget id steer clear..

Don't be late for breakfast
I stayed here on 18th Jan with my partner . We were attending a 50th birthday party close by , and due to the bad weather we wanted to stay as close as possible . This was not the cheapest option .Check in was ok and our room was right at the top of the hotel . Spacious room although dated and tired . Sink in bedroom and shower and toilet behind a sliding door . Very limited hanging space and only half height so party dress was squashed . Good hot shower , no problems with the room. The next morning we went to the dining room at 9.15 . The sign and the receptionist that breakfast was until 9.30 at weekends . The dining room was locked and we had to knock on the kitchen staff door . We were informed that breakfast had finished and when I pointed out that it was not 9.30 I was told that service was not until that time , that was when the kitchen closed . There were two people in the kitchen , and any decent hotel would have cooked us breakfast as we were within the time . We were told we could have tea and coffee , cereal etc . My partner said that he would buy me breakfast elsewhere but breakfast was included in the room rate . We had read the reviews and breakfast was supposed to be good . He then offered to cook eggs on toast . As we were hungry we agreed to this and we asked for coffee for two . He did not ask if we wanted white or brown bread . We were then given a pot of TEA with four t bags , which was two strong for me so I could not drink it . The greasy fried eggs arrived and I just ate the toast . I helped myself to some cereal . Very disapointed with the breakfast and lack of customer care . We then checked out abiut half an hour later . The man on the desk just took our key - he did not ask if we enjoyed our stay or if everything was ok . I noticed an AA four star sign outside . There is no way this is a four star , a good two star I think . A good point though is the bar tariff , which was very reasonable . ¿¿9 for a bottle of house wine

Airport trip
A pleasant, budget hotel which met our requirements. The staff were really helpful. The breakfast was very good, proper scrambled eggs! While it might need updating, it would be cosmetic, as our room and bathroom were clean and acceptable. There is road noise, but while noticeable, did not bother me. Room was very hot, and being on the ground floor we felt uneasy about leaving the sash window open. Would I stay there again, most definitely if we needed to be in that area.

Noisy
Handy to Sth Croydon station. Plenty of pubs, restaurants and shopping in the vicinity. Internet cafes and laundry nearby. Good breakfast and staff very helpful. The traffic noise at this hotel is amazing. The roads don't seem overly busy, but when cars and buses go by, you'd swear you were sleeping in the middle of the road. And my room was at the back of the hotel. I booked for a week during the Olympics, paid through the nose and had to leave after four days as I couldn't stand the noise anymore.
