This gueshouse by far is the worst one I have ever been to in the whole of my life.We were put down in the basement where there was only 1 window so it was always dark, the tea and coffee facilities were never replenished.The duvet underneath the incredibly worn out duvet cover was in a rancid state and needed a wash.And because it rained the whole time we were there it was always cold. The breakfast was atrocious, I have never tasted such nasty tea in my life we went out and bought our own 'continental' style breakfast as I could not stomach what they had on offer.It didnt help that the hotel was in a bad run down area in the same area as the notorious fred west who happened to live a few doors up.Never saw anyone the whole time we were there.

Easy to find with secure, off road, back of hotel parking. Checked in early no hassle, envelope with clear instruction how to get through the front door, get keys and into my room. No Manager on site but plenty of contact numbers and free phone once inside. The couple of calls I made to sort my early arrival and ask about parking were fully and courteously answered by the Manager. I was pleasantly surprised to see how spacious the room was with en-suite shower/toilet, towels, hair dryer, tea & coffee making facilities and TV, good working heating, wall safe (not that I used it) and comfy bed. The room was quiet with no discernable noise from inside or outside. Free continental, as much as you can eat, breakfast, toast/cereals etc 24/7 down in the basement kitchen which had the bonus of a large TV and which was well laid out and clean as was my room. Only stayed the one night to see 'Jim Jones Revue' band at the Guildhall and would have happily stayed more had I not planned to get home. The hotel is located near a large park if that's your thing and it's in a nice central location 5-10 mins away from the town center shops/bars/clubs/tourist attractions. Use of iron/ironing board and washing machine were all freely available should you need it. I spent some considerable time trawling through sites on the internet and I challenge anyone to find a nicer hotel in a city center location at the prices they charge. I fully recommend.

If you plan on being greeted like a guest (i.e. by real human people) in this guesthouse, forget it. By checking in, you enter the house with one million notes on the walls! One note on how to get the key, one on how to use the shower, how to use the kitchen, where¿¿¿s the food, how to cook your egg, ¿¿¿ In a 3 nights stay, we NEVER saw anyone apart from some other guests! Even the payment confirmation was slipped under the door during the day. A bit of human contact would be nice, so that this guesthouse would earn its title. For now, it looks as if the owners are only managing from a distance and collecting the money¿¿¿ The minimum would be to greet the guests on their arrival!The building itself is OK, albeit not in a very pleasant neighborhood : no trees and many run-down houses around. The room was not bad : comfortable bed, clean shower. But a few details made it less enjoyable : two single bed blankets for a double bed(!), kettle cordon too short to reach the electrical socket and a toilet cabinet so small that our knees touched the door when it was closed. The room was in need of a bit of dusting off and was not serviced during our 3 nights stay (no new clean towels either). Overall, not a very pleasant stay.
