The property was only taken over about 6 weeks ago and the current managers are wroking hard to improve everything. We only had breakfast as the food times in the evening didn't suit us but the breakfast was freshly cooked to order (although the first morning we weren't sure what we were getting as there is no menu or anything to choose from).For the price we paid it was good value and I would stay there again.Be warned, in Ironbridge Gorge there is little or no mobile phone reception and the wi-fi can be unpredictable in the old buildings!

We have just got back from a 5day stay in Ironbridge. We (sister and mum) stayed at the Swan in Ironbridge. The hotel is very central, opposite one of the many museum's and our room (room 6) overlooked the river.Yes, the evenings are lively as they have either bands or DJ entertaining the customers which stops on the dot at 11.30pm the music was loud and didn't appeal to our mum, only on the Fridays and Saturdays.We had breakfast which was lovely, well cooked and they catered for our very picky demands. The very old boiler broke down and after we reported it this was addressed and we returned to a lovely warm room and a hot bath. The new owners are doing their very best to improve the hotel but obviously don't have a bottomless pit of money to do everything. But anything that you do need will be done immediately. The hotel is clean, friendly, lively and I will definitely come back again.

At long last new management have taken over in may 2013, what a difference in quality, we did hear that the swan was changing hands as we stayed at the vally hotel on our last visit to ironbridge.we booked the weekend for a short stay and it's like it's gone back in time to the good old days, friendly staff excellent management who give you the feeling that nothing is to much trouble, our room was spotless, breakfast & the evening meal were beautiful, the place as been transformed the floors are all restained walls painted and a massive selection of wines / spirits & beers, such a difference from my last visit. yes bit noisy still Friday and sat evening but do not let this put you off it's not stupid loud. i must be the happiest customer as the swan as been our favourite place for the last 4 years as we travel around the country and to have the warm welcoming staff there it's truly made us happy again, we shall be booking again july for a week now it's been run properly. i really did think it was the end of a era at the swan after the stay we had before this...well done to all at the swan ironbridge.....

Sadly, this visit did not match expectations as the restaurant had no chef for Saturday night and there was a lot of noise from the bar guests outside our room. We were led to believe the business is now in receivership - so caution for advance bookings. We booked through an internet agent and feel very let down that they chose not to respond when we pointed out we did not get the breakfast we paid for.

the rooms ok, nothing to get excited about, old world locks on room doors, just a hand shower in bath which leaked. Beer ok, Breakfast great, good english breakfast. only one night stay at begining of week so it was quiet.appeared to be one other couple staying in hotel at time of visit
