All we could have asked for
We booked the Meryan for a funeral tea and can only say it was all we could have asked for, and more. What could have been a rather impersonal event elsewhere turned out to be a wonderful family gathering in warm and welcoming surroundings, with the most marvellous spread of home-made food. A guest who also stayed overnight at the Meryan was also extremely enthusiastic about the standard of accommodation, the breakfast and the atmosphere overall. We initially found the Meryan on Trip Advisor and the high praise there was later endorsed by others. And so it proved to be! The arrangements were handled with efficiency and sensitivity throughout. My thanks to Cherry and Nick. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there when we're next in Taunton.

Looking for Schools in Somerset
We stayed at the Meryan during the early part of March, and used the Hotel as our base to look for schools for our two boys, the rooms were immaculate, the beds, were some of the best we have ever slept in, the owner Cheery Clark is just the best Hotelier I have ever meet. She knows here customers, and her food is to die for,,,,,,, many thanks to all the staff, for making our stay so enjoyable. Put this hotel on you to visit list while in Somerset.

Fine hotel!
I stayed here for three nights in room 6 in march 2013. The room was very nice with everything in it that you would need. The double bed was very comfortable and had 6 pillows and 3 cushions. In the room was a flat screen tv with built in freeview, an iPod docking station/digital clock and telephone. The en-suite was very nice too with complimentary soap, shampoo and shower gel and the water was always very hot. The breakfast was very nice and filling too, the only downside was that there were no baked beans! But all in all I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay here again.

Catering for functions!
This review is a bit out of the normal and may not be thought suitable for trip adviser.On Thursday of this week we had a funeral service for my wife's sister, this was not a sad affair , more a celebration of her life.As with most funerals we did not know how many people would want to come back to the house afterwards but recond on about eighty. Cherry Clarke and her team of friendly and expert staff provided and served a wonderful buffet of both hot and cold food, they also provided and served tea and coffee along with the wine I had bought on sale or return from my local wine store.I would certainly recommend Meryan House for outside catering and intend visit in the near future.

Great Hotel you must stay here
We were doing a film shoot, in the Somerset Area, hours were long and the weather,was the worst we have ever worked in,the staff at the Meryan Hotel looked after us dried our clothes, and made sure we were fed and watered.(Breakfast to die for, and hot coffee on departure if you wanted it)Having worked all over the world, the Meryan stands out amoung the finest, nothing was to much for them, they even coped with moody actors, who as we know, are very demanding, the crew and cast, all stated they loved the hotel, and Mrs C scones are to die for, she is treasure, as are here staff.the rooms were warm clean, and very very comfortable,and the free WIFI was a great advantage to us.
