Many small inconveniences
Organised to stay here for a week on a business trip with a team flying in from around the globe. The restaurants were inexplicably closed, as was the fitness centre. A replacement 'fitness centre' was located in a glass fronted room near the reception - the old gift shop, perhaps? - with very little equipment. That's fine, if you don't mind exercising in an aquarium. The golf course paths were off limits to non-golfers for walking and jogging, which is not what the website led us to believe at all. Given the facility fee, I would have thought all guests should have had access to the facilities.Arriving Friday, I handed in (clean) laundry for ironing, with the information and laundry form stating it would be back by Saturday afternoon. As it turns out, it would be back on Monday - a little late for our first meetings. Jeans for me! What I couldn't understand was the staff's response - "yes, we do say you'll get it back on Saturday, but we don't actually do it". A little surreal! Three weddings were running on Saturday, and by Sunday morning at 9am, the place was still trashed - food and dirt from knocked over pot plants and crushed flowers in the halls and elevators. That will have been lovely for people arriving for Sunday's weddings! The rooms didn't have the advertised Aveda toiletries, rather generic (and harsh) standard hotel soaps and shampoos. Again, not a big issue, but I didn't bring my soaps and shampoos as I thought the Aveda stuff would be there. The bathroom was quite dirty in spots. It was also dark, small and cramped - I wasn't fussed, but I can imagine some guests would be. One of my team commented that he didn't feel he could turn around in his bathroom without hitting something.Saturday morning saw mowers out on the golf course from around 4:30 - 5:00ish. It certainly needs to be done - but I would have thought that Friday might have been a better day, rather than wake up guests on the weekend. All hotel information sections had been removed from the compendium on the desk, so you had no reference on times, services, etc.Room service only seemed to operate until 11pm, which meant that some of our team - arriving late from overseas - were unable to eat on arrival. No snacks, no mini-bar. Bad luck! And, the TV remote didn't work, so you could only use it manually. Again, not a big deal, but shows poor attention to detail. The internet was slow, so we went out and bought wireless hotspots. One small annoyance after another soured what should have been a very pleasant stay. We certainly won't be booking in here in the future.

A few problems: noisy, cramped bathroom, and surprise fee
The room was clean and the area near the bed was spacious. The fitness center was clean, but you had to walk across the parking lot. It was a nice day, but that was strange...if it was raining or cold out, that wouldn't be ideal (but may be typical of spas). The windows weren't sufficiently sound insulated and you could hear the O'Hare jets at night and in the morning. The room was pie shaped, which meant the bathroom was rather cramped, and you couldn't spread out as much as I would have expected in a high end hotel or spa. There was a $15 facility fee, which was not mentioned on the web site, or in the reservation, and was not itemized in the bill. When I asked about the discrepancy, the hotel staff just blew me off and blamed the reservation site...which annoyed me more than the $15. It wasn't much money, but it felt like a bait and switch to trick people into booking on price.

Celebrated Husband's 40th Birthday
Previously, I have visited Eaglewood Resort for girlfriend get-aways¿¿¿staying in a standard room and using the spa services. Overall, past experiences have been fine. That said, I moved forward and planned my husband¿¿¿s 40th birthday at Eaglewood by reserving a roof top suite and time at the bowling alley. The plan was to have a few friends join us for an evening of bowling, food, and celebrations while my husband, my toddler and I stayed over in the suite to enjoy the facilities as a family. I planned weeks ahead by reserving the bowling alley time through sales/catering. I even called the day before and all was confirmed¿¿¿two lanes for two hours to accommodate a group of 12. I was really excited and looking to this visit¿¿¿however when we arrived, our roof-top suite was located on 11th floor in the north tower, which isn¿¿¿t a big deal¿¿¿however, the elevators only go to the 10th floor, and when you are pregnant and to have walk luggage, a toddler, cake and other misc items up a flight a stairs¿¿¿it¿¿¿s a big deal. We finally located the suite, and while we enjoyed the view and space, the suite itself was dated and not worth the money¿¿¿and it is a lot of money! When you think suite you think no holds bar. The wood on the tables was chipped everywhere and the bathroom was small and needs upgrading. The constant up and down the flight of stairs just to get the elevator to get down to the lobby or areas of the resort just struck me as odd and unusual for penthouse accommodates. Also, I can¿¿¿t imagine those with a disability enjoying the situation either. An hour before the party, and as instructed by sales, I called room service and ordered all the party food to deliver to the bowling alley. Next, when our friends arrived, I called down to the bowling alley to inform our party was on the way. Well, I was told at that point, they had no reservation, no paperwork, nada--and sales did not inform them of anything. Huh? I planned this for weeks and even called the day before to re-confirm. The bowling alley manager said he could not reserve lanes (its first come-first serve) and to come down and he would see what he could do. What? I had friends and family travel a long way for this. We arrived downstairs and they accommodated us after a long back and forth and everyone standing around. The manager said they did find paperwork, but it was one lane for one hour. That was incorrect and fortunately, I saved the voicemail that sales provided which confirmed two hours and two lanes. After finally getting situated, the score/tv monitors kept skipping players and finally died 15 minutes into bowling time. So we sat for another 20 minutes while they figured out and re-set. The night ended and my party guests made the best of the situation, but I was sorely disappointed that my husband¿¿¿s birthday was a rocky ride¿¿¿through and through.I¿¿¿ve always considered myself quite flexible, because things happen and just to go with the flow¿¿¿but the ongoing problems made it difficult not to pipe up. I recommend Eaglewood for a quick get-away, but coordinating a significant function, I have to say, maybe check into other options.

Beautiful Resort
We spent the weekend here for my daughter's wedding. Everything was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were very large and it was helpful because the bridesmaids were able to get hair and makeup done in one room so renting a suite was not necessary. The lobby of the hotel served as a beautiful backdrop for some incredible wedding pictures. Rooms were very clean. Hallways were a little noisy at night with people coming and going at all hours of the morning. The morning after the wedding we had a large family breakfast/brunch in the hotel. We were all able to sit at one very long table and the wait staff was very accommodating. The food was very good. We were able to take advantage of a weekend package which made this a very good deal.

Nice Resort But Noisy
Stayed here one night for a convention. Wonderful facilities with superb service (everyone is very courteous and attentive) and nicely decorated, spacious, and clean rooms! Did not get a chance to play on the golf course so I cannot rate this. Stayed in room 420. It was very noisy!! There are two large exhaust pipes outside the room that kick in every hour...makes it sound like you are in the middle of O'Hare airport...and the room AC/Heater is extremely loud too!
