Nice place, hospitality needs lots and lots of work.
If you're looking for a breakfast and a bed...this isn't it. The Bedroom we stayed in was a queen bed with an adjoining bedroom containing a full lower and single upper bunk. Very nice place. The owner/host for the weekend needs training in hospitality. The breakfast was cereal, breads,and nature valley bars. The breakfast isn't served until 8 am due to over crowding rooms all through the first floor and the doors being in the dining room, We were scolded for talking before 8 am in the Living room and dining room areas by a very iritated host. we were wanting to be on the slopes of WhiteFace when the resort opened at 8 so we had our own cereal and proceeded to prepare our own breakfast using the lodges milk. everything was fine, until the host showed up and refused to allow us to use thier milk until 8 am. I explained to her that we were on our way to ski, had our own cereal and only needed milk, she made me put the milk and the bowl back on the counter and made us wait.

Quiet and nice location terrible bed
We had the most uncomfortable bed in room seven. If the room had a better bed, the breakfast was little tastier or the rates a little lower then I'd stay there again. Go to Tmax and Topo- it's not as quiet, but the beds are better, it's cheaper and you can bring your own cereal "continental breakfast".

Loved our stay here
We stayed in 'A place to lay our heads'. We were on a budget and this place was perfect! The owner was very nice and always available to answer our questions about the area. The included breakfast has yummy homemade bread! It was very cozy and homey like staying at a friends house. Loved visiting with her precious kitties in the evenings. The location is just a short walk to some great resturaunts and a very short drive to Main Street. Was not a long drive to the ski resort either which was our reason for visiting. We would definitly choose this place again for our stay!

Nice little Bed and Breakfast
Spruce Lodge B&B is located just off the main street in Lake Placid village. Pros:-The lodge overall is very clean, nice sized rooms and spacious bathrooms. Good parking spacePeaceful & ConvenientCons:-Little away from all the hustle and bustle of the Main St. in Lake PlacidBreakfast is served from 8:00 AM as compared to hotels where it starts from 6:00 - 7:00.We had to leave early morning, so could not have breakfast. Overall a good value for money, will definitely book again for Lake Placid.

Bait and switch
Be very careful. All the pictures shown here are for the newer buildings. I had reserved a room with one queen overlooking their pond. They had been quite nice on the phone. I had notified them of my late arrival - 8:30PM and was told that wouldn't be a problem. When I arrived the 'only' room available was right off the main reception area. The main reception area is one big room that includes the small reception desk, sitting area, dining table and it looked like that opened to a kitchen beyond. It didn't spell any privacy at all. There were 3 twin beds in a tight space and overlapping each other, no dressers and certainly no view. They tried to tell me that was the room that I had reserved. I had made the reservations through a travel provider on line and if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have been reimbursed for the whole amount of the two night stay. I had been a bit hesitant to pay the whole amount upfront and you can be sure I won't again.
