Perfect Stay
My husband and I stayed for the night for dinner, bed and breakfast in the Riverside building. What a thoroughly charming hotel.The service from the staff and attention to the little details is why the fine service is really special. The menu had us mouthing-watering and our meal was superb. As for the wine, Ballathie has an experienced sommelier.We would recommend this fine, old established country hotel on the banks of the River Tay to anyone, we are already planning our next stay.

Excellent once again!
We stayed at balathie on Saturday evening and this time stayed in the riverside building in suite 1. Lovely accommodation with one wee slight problem which was dealt with promptly by the very pleasant housekeeper. We had our food in the bistro where we were entertained by the manager Jody! Great customer service skills and once again excellent food. If we lived closer we would be more than happy to eat in either the bistro or the hotel on a regular basis although uthe bistro is only open when the hotel is full. The presentation of the food is fantastic and excellent quality. The hotel was very busy with a Wedding but because we were in the riverside building this didn't detract from our stay. Suite 1 has great views and was lovely to relax in after a delicious meal Only about 50 yards from the hotel so not far to walk for breakfast. Staff were all excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending for a quiet weekend away from it all. Christine

Wedding Reception
I attended the wedding reception of my nephew Andrew Renwick and his lovely wife Dr Suzi Reid. I could not fault the efficient and attentive staff who kept the level of service high throughout the day and evening. The reception was in a large semi permanent marquee off the main building. The entrance to it was narrow and involved going up steps through a window/door and then down some other steps with no handrail. Several people fell throughout the day and evening and this serious health & safety issue needs addressed urgently,

Elegant dining in unpretentious luxury
Stayed 1 night for Dinner B&B. Room was in Riverside suite . What a delightful experience it all was. Thoroughly recommend this fine, old established country hotel on the banks of the river Tay. Food , wine and fine service from all of the staff was really special and not to be missed. Dinner was Guinea fowl starter followed by beef fillet cooked perfectly accompanied by award winning Rioja.Have decided to return asap when summer eventually comes!!

Ballathie House
A first class hotel although our impression on arrival was marred by empty cans on the forecourt and dirty glasses in the foyer. However, the hotel had just had a wedding so can be excused. However, imagine our dismay when on arrival at our room the twin beds were not made up properly, A visit to the receptionist soon sorted this out. She agreed that this was unacceptable and arranged for the beds to be remade. She arranged a drink at the bar while this was happening. However, praise where it is due and therefter our stay was delightful. The staff even arranged for an off-menu meal which was delicious. The hotel is in an ideal setting with delighful views over the River Tay and we would have no hesitation in returning there.
