There is a poor descriptive write up on our company's booking page which I will report back on and get resolved! This is not the hotel's problem though they wish to look at the various booking companies to ensure their data is up to date. I've yet to look at its history but its like an old railway hotel at one of the major link stations like Leeds Manchester or similar. Not colonial but something like that and they were all once great hotels and coming into their own. Our site didn't mention the spa or the big car park I expected dated but adequate and for one night that would have been ok. But this is "a result". Large more than adequate car park. Dunnes stores nearby handy for missing things like deodorant etcRoom excellent love the way the iron and ironing board are in their own little cupboard(must get a photo) Lots of working space and good lightingThere is a safeOh and I like that there are complimentary bottles of waterBath room not the biggest but more than adequate and big enough with plentiful soaps etc face cloths nicely laid out. And good surface I hate not having room for ones wash bag. Here was good. And clean (big important factor) I had an industrial view from my room which was at the back but as there are hills in the distance I forgive. Reception excellent very efficient treated me as a special guest. Grill bar was a disappointment beer, Guinness, served properly and staff polite but constant sky news in silent mode is not classy. Later I went to eat there and was directed to take a seat and I would be attended to. But ignored for 10 minutes then someone who had just come in got attended to before me. I left. After I calmed down I went to the "proper" restaurant. What a difference the "Merchants bar" was 100%. My order was taken there. Then when table was ready my drink was carried though to an "old fashioned" formal restaurant. Excellent dashing staff with no sense of dashing efficient polite if you caught the eye of a member of staff they greeted you politely and made you feel like a trusted "guest" Excellent recommend it. Food very good and definitely good value for money I had a mixed grill main course. Very good. Be aware the portions are large. Breakfast like dinner in same room good choices and excellent service Checkout quick efficient friendly and accurate

Nice Hotel,in the centre of Newry,close to bus stop,restaurant's and bars.Room was clean and tidy,good king size bed,a good choice of breakfast.Staff friendly and helpful. Plenty of Parking spaces available and secure.

Had a fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel. The staff could not be more accommodating, really friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, functional and clean and the beds extremely comfortable. The breakfast was gorgeous (much needed after a big night out). The breakfast room is really nice and relaxing, again, the staff could not do enough for you. My partner opted for the Full Irish (wonderful) whilst I went for the cereals, fruit and jams and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The views are great too. The bar is really lovely and we enjoyed a couple of drinks before going out and again, everything was great. I popped into the gym/spa and enjoyed a lovely outdoor jacuzzi (to try to get rid of the excesses of the previous evening) and it worked a treat :). I have rebooked for a BIG family reunion and am really looking forward to the stay and will definitely book one of the luxurious pamper packages.......don't hesitate ....book this hotel for your stay in Newry

Just returned from a fantastic stay in the Canal Court!! We had four in our group and had booked the shop till u drop package and upgraded to the Ambassador Suites which was well worth the extra. The room was huge with a very large comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath. There was a bottle of wine with our package which was chilling in the room on our arrival and as both rooms were celebrating birthdays they had a birthday banner on both room doors which was a lovely touch!! The dinner in the Old Mill Restaurant was absolutely delicious with a fabulous set menu which had such a great choice including sirloin steak!! The staff in the restaurant and throughout the hotel were excellent with great customer service I will definitely be booking to stay here again before the end of the summer this time it will b for more than 1 night!!

This is a beautiful place to stay, right on the canal in Newry! The Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The Granary Bar was great.... we even met the head chef. We would recommend this hotel to anyone!
