Stayed there for 2 nights, never saw any of the staff smillin. no security measures at all. B-fast was a mix of confused continental cusines. rooms are average. when asked for packed Vegetarian B-fast without egg for 4 am flight got it done with egg (took only the water bottel out of it).

The hotel though centrally located in the heart of shopping paradise ... is not a very clean hotel, the family room is odd shape ... Staggered and the AC is non existent - primarily due to wrong placement of AC as well as the bed ..... The staff is not much helpful .. Overall Ecotel experience was not good especially when we were royal family at Marriott Phuket.

The location is really close to Makkasan Train Station. The nearest BTS is Chitlom and a brisk 15 mins walk. The neighborhood is not so good, total wholesale market area. The reception staff has no idea of the city. Wifi was free and good. Had to keep 100 USD as deposit, a first in any country i have traveled to. The room was stinky and had a view of back alley.

We visited this hotel 2 weeks ago because of its good location and the good deal which we got on agoda. First appearance of the lobby and reception staff was very good. The reception spoke good english and were first quite helpful. They even gave us wlan access before we checked in to help us find our booking details. After that all got worse. My gut feeling told me it was because of the great discount we got because it began right after they found out.The first room we got had not been serviced at all - probably an organisational problem with the room service team. The bed wasn't made and there was garbage on the floor. Can happen I guess. Went down to reception and got a second room.We were assured that the second room had been serviced. The bed was made this time but the bathroom was filthy with feace stains on the toilet seat, moss all over the walls and soap stains on the shower faucets. In fairness the sink was almost clean. The bed had 4 white stains and 2 yellow stains after we removed the sheets. The furniture was very dusty and a chair was broken.I went back to the reception to ask for some intervention and instead of at least looking into the matter, he sent the head cleaning lady. She barely spoke english and after 3 seconds of listening to my complaints she looked at me and told me she didn't have time that day to fix anything and would do it the next day. I told her that this was unacceptable where she then called reception for 10 seconds, spoke something rudely to reception and immediately left with no other words signing it was my problem to deal with reception.I once again went to reception and all staff at reception seemed bothered that I kept complaining. 2 individuals actually giggled and looked away in a manner in dint take me to speak Thai to understand their rudeness.This time the man at reception did though come up to the room to see my complaints and admitted that my complaints were valid. The mold though was "normal" according to him and apparently couldn't be removed. I should have mentioned javelle liquid.The third room we got was a bit better than the second room but had all the same problems including 2 stains on the sheets but without a broken stool. We had been 12 hours on the road from Phuket so we decided to keep it as we were too exhausted to move again. He promised though to send someone by to dust the furniture which never happened.Breakfast the next day was surprisingly disappointing. There was a huge variety of choice but almost nothing was recomendable. I might sound high maintenance but I really am not and there was really nothing we enjoyed. Even the "fresh juice" was made of concentrated flavours that tasted far from what it was supposed to copy. In fairness all other guests mostly Chinese and Indian seemed to be very satisfied and content with the offer presented.The wifi was also not strong enough in the room and could only be used standing close to the door. In fairness I didn't complain as I had given up hope of real assistance.We stayed for two days and left for another hotel which was only minimally better. The hotel has modern facilities in a great location thats why I gave 2 instead of 1 point. I can't help feel that it would have taken only minimal more effort to have given this hotel 4-5 stars. They broke the biggest rule in the hospitality book and that is to take the customer seriously.

Stayed here in September of 2011. (Sorry for the inaccurate travel date, Tripadvisor only allows me to choose one year prior to review date) We got our room vouchers from a coupon site and it was a steal (around PHP1500/night/room). It is easily accessible from the airport via the MTR. Tuktuks can also be found outside the hotel. It is a 5minute walk to the Prattunam Market and Platinum Mall. Street food and such can be found all around the side streets. Rooms are quite large and comfortable with thick sheets and curtains. There is also an in-room ref and safe for your valuables.
