Just got back from our 3rd visit to this wonderful hotel,staff were as normal fantastic, very polite and nothing was to much trouble for them, there was a ball going on when we got there & thought oh dear is this going to be a hectic night i.e not getting served etc, but we didnt have to worry service was as it always has been perfect, bar prices are a bit expensive as are the meal prices, but its the old saying you get what you pay for,liz in the breakfast room is a really lovely lady actually remembered us from last time very bubbly happy lady once again nothing was to much trouble, we will be returning again very shortly, well done to the management and staff for making our weekend enjoyable :) .

Service Brilliant - rooms a bit tired
We stayed there for 1 night, to attend a summer ball. The ball itself was excellent, great food served very quickly - we had pre-ordered chicken, which was served with gorgeous roast potatoes along with fresh seasonal veg - all cooked nicely. The other choice was salmon, which also look tasty. Starters and puddings were also very nice.Breakfast the following morning was buffet, but you ordered poached or fried eggs which were prepared fresh - very nice.The only slightly down side was our room, which was right at the back in the extended part - just looked tired and smelt slightly of damp. Also, the curtains were next to useless in terms of blackout. Maybe we are just being too picky, as this did not spoil what was an excellent ball and certainly would not not stop us from staying there again, or recommending this hotel for functions such as weddings, etc. The gardens at the rear are immaculate.Well done to the Mount.

Good hotel with great service!
3 night business stay at The Mount. Warm, efficient welcome on arrival, no quibble room change when tequested and a really good bar with surprisingly good food! The staff are great! Attentive, extremely professional and very welcoming. Like many older hotels, it's fair to say the rooms need refurbishing as do the bathrooms and if they do decide to spend some money on them and complete them to the same standard as the Drawing Room Restaurant and the Bar area, then it will be a really great hotel! Only let down was breakfast. Serve yourself buffet with below average produce and regrettably the service was below the rest of the hotel (never got offered any tea any couldn't find any)? Shame! Overall though, great VFM and I will stay again!

Our perfect day
We got married at the mount.... Our day was perfect and went to plan as organised!! The staff were very attentive and welcoming nothing was to much trouble. Our bedrooms were very clean, comfortable and nearby our guests! The housekeeping staff were very helpful and and catered for all our guest some of which were less able-bodied, a very kind thought. The food was TOP NOSH! Tender beef and trimmings and plenty for all. All our guests enjoyed the day as did we, the gardens were very tidy and well kept! This left us with amazing photographs and positive comments from all! Tables were large and accomadated all our party for breakfast, who arrived together! The waiting staff were pleasent and very willing. There was a good selection of food which was hot and tasty! This really was a day to remember!!! We would recommend this hotel to all a perfect wedding venue with great staff who are a credit to the property thank you.

Perfect wedding location!!
I visited here with my partner whilst visiting family but there was the most beautiful wedding going on outside, as long as you got the weather this would be perfect for a traditional summer wedding. The bedroom was clean and stylish, the food was delicious in the restaurant downstairs and the staff were pleasant too. Overall a really good trip, we will definitely be returning here each time we visit family in the area and (fingers crossed) for my wedding!
