Very chilled out stay
Just back from a surprise birthday stay which my wife booked .Arrived about 3-45 and went up to our room and left our bag in then went down for a drink and had our meal which was really very enjoyable. After dinner went for a swim which again was so relaxing and left us all very chilled.Family rooms are very spacious with plenty of room four the four of,us we have used this hotel a few times and would not go anywhere else as the whole overall experience of La Mon is very good . From you arrive till you go the entire staff can not do enough for you . Highly recommend a visit to this hotel as we will be back soon Billy ,Nicola .Matthew and Taylor Nutt

Austria Under 17
The Austrian National Team were hosted at La Mon for 3days at the beginning of May . I stayed with them as liaison officer. The players and Officials made special request to thank all hotel staff for their welcome and facilities provided. They appreciated the special team room and a balanced diet of carbohydrates protein and vitamins necessary for young athletes. The private team room resulted in other guests having their own space in the restaurant and bistro. The hotel was most considerate in providing for both private guests alongside teams. The Austrian delegation have made particular reference to the Reservations staff for all their pre tour information and their personal care shown in making their stay memorable. Having been part of the group for 3 days I would recommend this hotel for the food quality, accommodation and a beautiful country setting, yet only15 minutes from Belfast Centre. The bedrooms are bright modern and spacious, many with views over the garden or rolling countryside I'm Booking Mother in Law in for her SIGNIFICANT BIRTHDAY.

Terrible catering ruined an otherwise good experience
We stayed at this hotel for four (4 star I believe!) as part of a touring holiday. We were part of a large group and ate in a separate dining room and the service and food were appalling. Instead of a waiter service, we had to queue up like school children to be served - but I expect that most school dinners are better than the food we ate. By the last evening many of the 'choices' on the fairly small menu were 'not available' - and who heard of a quality hotel running out of marmalade at breakfast! When we complained we were fobbed off with a comment along the lines of 'Oh, you tour people.....'. What a shame, because the location and rooms are fine, but we certainly wouldn't recommend the cuisine.

Relaxing weekend!
Took a family break..la monsters break at la Mon..very clean, immaculate hotel, spacious room..one double bed, two proper single beds and a travel cot...a very new one..as I had worried about what our brand new little person would be sleeping in...excellent condition...room was spotless and spacious and decor modern. Hotel was relaxed and quiet...just lovely!pool was great and food was super! Great deal and close to lovely areas of Bangor, portaferry....aquarium etc. Definitely worth a visit!

Fantastic service, fantastic staff, fantastic hotel.
Just back from an overnight stay and as usual the hotel can't do enough for you, got an upgrade and 1st class service from all staff. The food was excellent and this is coming from someone who is a fussy eater they always acomodate us. Can't wait until our next visit which will be very soon. Oh and the bar staff and bar manager (Jim) are brilliant.
