An OKish Stay
Came here for two nights on a business trip and the hotel was very accommodating in allowing me an early check in. The location is good, less than ten minutes walk to the town centre and rooms at the back overlook the cathedral. My issue with Lancaster Lodge is that they advertise it as a boutique hotel with de luxe rooms and it is not at all that. It is a lodge, comparable with Travel Lodge in the UK and not as good as a Premier Inn. The building is rather drab, the rooms soulless and slightly tired and facilities are minimum - to begin with my room did not even have any toiletries. As such it does not offer very good value for money, considering you can get the much more upmarket River Lee Hotel next door for about twenty quid extra and a comparable place in England for a half of what I paid here. Breakfast was good on the first morning but the second day I made the mistake of ordering smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. The salmon looked well past its prime and the eggs had clearly been microwaved, thus were watery and had a nasty texture - I didn't eat it. Afraid I would not return here at any price, let alone what I paid on this trip.

Lancaster Lodge: a safe place after a horrible start in Cork
I went to Cork City last July and the Lancaster Lodge is where I fortunately got a place to stay one day after my arrival and a horrible experience at a Guest House across the street. The receptionist whom I spoke with was a very nice lady and her warmth and kindness was a relief after what I went through. My room was spacious and very clean. It was a back room, a bit noisy and the curtains did not cover the outside lamps so it was disturbing to sleep. Breakfast was very good. It seems that most of the people that stay at the Lancaster are businessmen, something like that. It is a good option if you're flying from Cork Airport, so on my way home I decided to stay there again.

outstanding stay
Myself and my husband stayed there this weekend, it was great value for money, excellent staff so nice and friendly. Our room was huge and spotless I could not say anything bad.The breakfast was devine, I am a very fussy eater, so close to the city centre with free parking and check out at 1.30 what can i say it was heavan

Great hotel at a great price
Stayed two nights in Cork and the Lancaster Lodge was the perfect location from which to do all our sightseeing. Staff was extremely helpful with sightseeing ideas and booking taxis. While the outside of the hotel looks like a Howard Johnson, the rooms were modern, clean and comfortable. Ours had a view of St Finnbars Cathedral which was very nice and the front of the hotel looks out onto a canal which boasts a couple of swans. There is a vending machine on the second floor for midnight munchies and the breakfast is more than adequate. If you choose not to have breakfast at the hotel, across the street is a wonderful coffee and sandwich shop called Depeche. When we were looking for pubs with live music, the front desk person called around town to find the perfect spot for us! Hotel is a five minute walk from the English Market and main shopping street. Would definitely stay here again.

Brilliant Location for City Break
I stayed here with three friends for two nights a Friday and Saturday. The hotel is like a boutique hotel and large guest house. We had two bedrooms with a single and double in each room. They were located beside each other which was a big plus because I have often booked rooms in other hotels and the rooms are miles apart. The hotel is absolutely spotless The room was perfect, extremely clean with plenty of lights and mirrors and a great power shower. The hotel was quiet if there was any noise it was probably coming from us! The staff were friendly and the location was perfect. A 5 to 10 minute walk to town. However, we did get a taxi on a few occasions!!We availed of the room only rate which was a bargain at ¿¿¿76 per room per night. We didn't buy breakfast because it ended at 10am and that was too early for us after being out each night. The hotel does not have a bar or offer any other meal facilities so just keep that in mind but overall I couldn't praise this hotel enough.
