Our party booked rooms in June last year. We are due to go in 3 days time. Yesterday one of the party was phoned by a member of staff from Dublin South and told that they could not now accommodate the party and that alternative accommodation was available at the Travelodge in Swords, Dublin North, further out of the city.Considering that the reason for booking this Travelodge was to be NEAR the city, we phoned back and spoke to the manager who offered us 10 Euro per room in compensation.As a party, we decided to take a chance to find accommodation nearer. Unfortunately, this would also incur more expense, but that would probably be offset by the travelling back and forward from Swords.Today we have had another phone call from Dublin South asking if we would be making the move to Swords and accepting the compensation. When we replied that it was too far out, and considering the length of time the rooms had been booked for, we would be refusing the offer and making a complaint due to the treatment we have received .We were then told that we didn't have to move if we didn't wish to.The disrespect and contempt that we have been treated by Travelodge is beyond belief. They were happy to send us away, probably being able to get customers who were paying a higher rate than we were.Desperately shoddy treatment.We were fortunate to contact the Clarion hotel in the centre of Dublin, whose staff went above and beyond the call of duty in obtaining rooms at a manageable price for us. Their helpfulness and professionalism was in direct contrast to the Travelodge at Dublin South.

an inexpensive hotel, Wi Fi is 5 Euro's a day, or 10 minutes on the lobby computers for 1 Euro, neighborhood is run down and I would not want to walk about after dark, having said this, the hotels saving grace is it's staff, Pauline and Roman at the front desk were friendly and helpful even when dealing with 2 or 3 customers at a time, Michelle in the Cafe, and Flossy in housekeeping could not have been more attentive and helpful. I would stay again.

Stayed here on business one night. Quite by mistake really as I thought i was booking a different travellodge. Anyway, it was clean, but noisy, Could swear the guest next door got murdered in the middle of the night with all the yelling and banging. Fully expected a crime scene tape outside my door the next morning. Parking is secure. But needs to be in this area. Breafast, tasteless and over priced. If they are going to compete against the likes of the Premier Inn they will seriously need to up their game.

What you save on the room rate, you might more than pay in taxis to get there and back to the airport.Also negative 1. Arrived at 10pm....no food or bar available. No nearby restaurants (take away next door), and the nearest (unpleasant) pub (across the busy main road) is like something out of the Wild West. 2. Breakfast. Wanted a latte coffee in the restaurant area, no latte available....'it will take about 5 minutes'. So tried the coffee machine at reception.....er, 'we don't habe any cups.I had found an online deal at a hotel on the airport site (walkable from the terminal). It was dearer, but in retrospect I should have taken it.

A few min. drive from Airport (taxi 14 ¿¿¿), spacious and very tidy rooms, large quality beds (kingsize), coffee/tea facilities, extremely helpful and friendly staff who individually care for their guests. Although not located in the best part of town, it is an excellent budget hotel which is recommendable for both travellers who can easily get to the city centre of Dublin (public transport available) as well as to/from Dublin Airport for one overnight stay.
