Clean and Comfortable - easy access to Venice
We spent 3 nights at this hotel and would be happy to recommend it to our friends. Typical continental breakfast choice (cheese, ham, cereals, fruit, yoghurts and of course lots of cake) with the nice touch of a waiter who made excellent coffee to order. The rooms were perfectly clean. The room size was large based on Italian standards and ¿¿¿cozy but adequate¿¿¿ if you come from elsewhere. Our room and as far as I could see most others had balconies ¿¿¿ which we made use of to enjoy a bottle of Prosecco on an evening. The room came equipped with a fridge ¿¿¿ so the Prosecco was just at the right temperature! In April, it was warm enough to sit outside and too early for the insects which I believe the Venice area is prone to. The staff were lovely and were proficient in English.It is possible to take a direct bus from within 200m of the hotel to the centre of Venice ¿¿¿ all included in the standard Venice ¿¿¿ACTV¿¿¿ travel cards. The multi-day travel cards are a necessity to avoid long queues at ticket offices that would be faced by those choosing to Pay-as-you-go on the busses and Vaporettos. Also, a number 15 bus goes directly to/from Marco Polo airport to the same stop. It costs only ¿¿¿6 one-way. Arriving by bus is easy. It takes about 30 minutes. After you pass Mestre railway station, get off the bus immediately past the roundabout with fountains and the hotel is on the second street on your left hand side when facing the direction of bus travel. It is also possible to take a train from Mestre station (about 5 mins walk from the hotel) directly to the main railway station in Venice (Santa Lucia) for about ¿¿¿2.40 return. As you walk out of the railway station the Grand Canal is right there in front of you ¿¿¿ quite a spectacular sight on your first visit to Venice. However the bus station is only about 300m from the railway station.The hotel is located in an average area. There is quite a mixed local population and nobody seems to work. We did however feel quite safe even at night. It is quiet at night. Local eating options are fairly limited, but better value than in Venice. We lunched at a nearby restaurant called Alla Pergola and could not fault it. Overall, a positive experience and it is on our list for a return visit.

Excellent, quiet and very friendly hotel.
Stayed for three nights in a twin room. The facilities were excellent for the price. Breakfast was served every day with a nice variety of continental bits and bobs. Cappuccino was top notch and the man making them was very kind, even though he didn't speak a word of English. I was a bit sceptical about staying off the main stretch but its so much nicer to go back to your hotel where's it's quiet and friendly, rather than in the hustle and bustle of the island.The bus takes 15 mins max aand you don't have to wait very long for it from piazza Le roma.

Everything was great, friendly, clean and good location..........Until
Everything with the hotel itself was brilliant until we asked the receptionist to order us a taxi to take us back to the airport. The taxi ride the way there from Marco Polo cost us 30 Euros so we were expecting about that on the way back but then he charged us 50 Euros we felt a little let down by the hotel because the obviously knew this as invited the taxi man in the hotel for a coffee before we went on the journey so must have known he would charge us that much. But the hotel itself is in a great location, clean inside and just want you need for a city break.

Lovely little place
Nice rooms with everything you need. Staff are so friendly and very helpful.breakfast room is a bit small and was full when we went down, but no big deal.Easy access to the main island.Once you arrive and the main bus terminal on the island, catch a 6 or 6/ and get off at the stop after the roundabout with the fountain. (Think its the only roundabout you go through). Once off the bus, cross the road and head down the nearest side road, and the hotel is at the end.

Very Friendly, Reasonably Priced and Helpful
I was extremely surprised at the low price I paid for this Hotel for 3 nights. I wasn't expecting anything special but was pleasantly surprised.The room was clean and basic with a TV (no English Channels). It is situated in a quiet location on the mainland in Mestre. At breakfast we had rolls, croissant, boiled eggs, meat, cheeses as well as the usual cereals and yoghurts. If you don't like filter coffee they will happily make fresh cappuccino. Avoid the tea as the water is never hot enough to colour your tea bag. We had an afternoon flight on our return and even though room check out was at 12, the staff had no objections to us waiting in the restaurant for our pick up. There is a garden at the side of the hotel for when the weather is better if you wnat to have breakfast alfresco.The reception gave us a local map which had a Venice map as well along with some good tips. The bus stop No 6 bus is about 2 minutes from the hotel and runs every 10 minutes during the day. There is also an all night hourly service. For eating out the tips given were to go to Accademie (student quarter) for a good value meal or north of the Grand Canal. We bought a two day travel pass for buses and the water taxis including the Valporetto for the Grand Canal at 40 Euros each. Don't bother with the Valporetto tickets stick with the bus/waterbus tickets at 30 Euros for a 48 hour pass. We only ever had to use the pass once as there appeared to be virtually no ticket checks. We went to Murano on one of the taxis and went around the main Venice Island which is a leisurely 75 minute trip. We used the train to get into Venice which was 1 Euro 60 cents each one way. The tickets are only valid for 60 minutes. Venice Mestre Station is about a five minute walk from the hotel.
