Recent Oakbrook Holiday Inn experience
Stayed here as it was located close to 88 and close to our office. But a disappointing experience. Had to check out abruptly because the Wifi was not working and was under major repairs. Even when it was working for the initial few days, it was ridiculously slow and would not allow skype sessions.No laundry pick up service- strange!!Huge humming noise on the top floor where I stayed. I gues it was due to the old, squeaky elevator riding up and down.Buffet breakfast area and the quality of items available and look and feel were one of the poorest I have encountered in hotels of this class..

Wonderful attitude of staff!

Love the hotel, not crazy about the change
I find this hotel very convenient, comfortable, friendly and fun. But one of the most fun parts is about to change. I understand Q, who works at the front desk is being transferred to another hotel. Say it ain't so! She is such a bundle of joy and always makes us feel welcome at this regular stop. Please reassign her back here at your earliest convenience! thanksbilff

Comfortable bed but a few quirks
When we checked in, I was informed that there was only rooms available with two queen beds. When I said that we preferred a king bed, the front desk clerk said there was one room available but it was handicap accessible. We said that that would be fine and she informed us that if not, we could change rooms, stating that one woman had already changed rooms 4 times! When we got to our room, we discovered that while it was handicap accessible, it was NOT a king size bed but a single queen. I called down to the front desk to let them know but was told that it showed in their computer that it was a king sized bed and she could show me on the computer! I didn't mean to imply that I thought she was lying, so that felt very uncomfortable; I only wanted to let her know that her database needed to be corrected and was there perhaps another handicap accessible room that might have a king sized bed? She informed me that all the other rooms were two queens, so we just decided to stay where we were. The room was comfortable and clean. The only other problem was that the cold water pressure in the sink was almost a drip. The hot water side was hot and plentiful. Upon checkout the next morning, I mentioned that perhaps maintenance should look at it. I also mentioned again (different person) that the room was not king sized even though the database indicated it was. The clerk repeated both of those things but did not write anything down and I got the distinct impression that nothing would be done. Decent hotel in decent shape, very busy, great location, but guest services left me a bit cold. Wished we would have had an opportunity to try the restaurant/bar.

Great Makeover
Have spoke at events at this hotel the last three years. The hotel has been upgraded and the meeting rooms are fantastic.My room was on the front of the hotel, however there was no disturbance from the street noise.Wish the breakfast buffet had a few more choices but was ok, no complaint.
