Tired hotel, nonchalant staff!
Despite being a budget hotel (¿¿69 per night room only) I expect the reception staff to be welcoming and offer a smile. Instead I was greeted by a grumpy woman who clearly couldn't be bothered to be there. The room had a stale smell and the hotel itself is tired and in need of updating. The food is supplied by the RBG brand which I have always found to be average and overpriced. I will research more carefully next time......

Good budget hotel
We stayed here to attend an event taking place in the hotel. The room decor was modern and functional with some nice design touches. It reminded me of a good US motel chain. The good: Lots of lighting in the room, hairdryer, kettle, iron and ironing board, etc. Black out curtains and huge very comfy bed. Fluffy towels - full bath sheets. Toiletries provided. Room was a good size with large windows. Good selection of food to suit most tastes available at breakfast - there were gluten free, fat free and dairy free options. Fried and poached eggs cooked to order. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first night and the food was good quality, very well cooked and excellent value.The not so good: The light duvet on the bed could have been bigger (we had a super king bed and it barely overhung the edges of the bed) and there was a hole in the cover at the foot of the bed. I would also have like to have had a bath tub, not just a shower. A bit of attention to detail needed in housekeeping/maintenance - marks on wall and curtains plus ceiling repair not well finished. Coffee at breakfast needed a flavour injection! Microwave scrambled eggs - yuck. A conveyor belt toaster would be quicker than the slot toasters they have and would enable guests to toast not just the sliced bread - there's a sign asking you not to toast the bread you cut yourself. It gets stuck in the toaster slots because of its size - I know because I tried to toast mine before I noticed the sign!The bad: although there was a heating/aircon control in the room, I couldn't get it to do anything and it was cold in the evening - I think the system must have been switched off centrally. The hotel gym is probably the smallest and most cramped I have seen. A shame because it is pretty well-equipped. After visiting the gym mid morning, there was no hot water at 11.30am in our room.The staff were friendly and helpful and the public areas were clean and tidy. There is ample on site parking. The hotel is on a major bus route into town. There is some traffic noise as the road outside is busy, but I always pack earplugs as I am a light sleeper. All in all, very good value for money and a pleasant stay.

ruth, not recommended
Would not return to this hotel, paid ¿¿238 for a 2 night stay in a double room , the booking stated a queen size bed, but on our arrival there was only 2 singles with grubby bed linen, when asked to be moved , was told " oh there are no queen sized beds we just pushed the singles together ? on a plus side ,plenty of parking and a decent breakfast .overall the hotel is very tired looking with less than helpful reception staff .

Big let down!
Booked into this hotel with a group of mates for a last minute birthday weekend. Upon Arrival hotel had a nice location and car park. Main reception and common areas were good. Once arriving to the rooms there were bad paint jobs, black marks on the walls everywhere, and not to mention all the stains! Rooms were very tiny and outdated and in need to a makeover! Used the pool area, was decent for what it is! Glad we weren't in our rooms for long! Wouldn't return but may recommend for stag and hens?!?

Som bad points!
This hotel is standard! On our arrival their was a mix up with the price we where charged and a member of reception asked us to sort it out ourselves and spoke to us as if we where a group of children not paying guest!! The food in the restaurant was fab the menu had lots of choice . The room is small but was clean & comfortable. There is a beauty therapist in the hotel but her services are not advertised very well( only on poster in toilet) myself and some of our party received a massage & I have to say it was great we'll worth the money.
