Good value for money
I found this hotel as ok. It was spacious and neat and comfy, but there were many missing items in the kitchen and there was no hair dryer. The location is veryyyy good as it's just behind Spinneys and very close to Centre Point and Burjuman shopping centre. It's also close to both Karama and Burjuman metro stations. The only problem was that our apartment was overlooking the pool and so we were able to hear the people screaming and splashing all day long (the glass windows and doors didn't block off the sounds). However, the staff was really nice and cooperative and helpful. There was free wireless internet inside the room. I'd stay in this hotel again as it was good value for money.

good value
We stayed at the GS 10 as a touring sporting team for one week. We had a 2br apartment with a kitchen ( the stove didnt work but the fridge and mw were put to good use), ens, sep 2nd bathroom, dining/lounge area laundry ( washer and dryer was very helpful). Was opposite a vacant block which fronted the Spinneys supermarket, and about a 5 min walk to the Al Karama (stop 20 on the red line). apartment was serviced daily, pool large enough, kids loved the squash court and the table tennis, the gym was tiny but did have 8 pieces of functional equipment. It is a dated building and maintenance was being carried out , also no smoke alarms in any of the rooms. Also watch the raised step between the kitchen and the balcony !!! and the sliding doors to the balcony that don't lock ( after several calls to reception. Over all not bad, spend your money on the sightseeing. Included breakfast was disappointing , Indian cuisine based so scrambled or hardoiledled eggs with juice and watermelon were the only foods the children would eat. The lifts were crazy - only allowing 5 people at a time without a buzzer going off.

Mediocre
In general terms, these apartments are low-to-standard quality. The location is OK and did the trick as all I needed was accommodation near Dubai World Trade Center. The location is good (a bit far from the metro but taxis are readily available nearby).The staff is not very nice, to the point of being rude at times and room amentties are deficient (tiny bottles of shampoo/gel and only one towel per person). The air-conditioning in my room had two temperatures; hot and scorching. The rooms are clean and large enough to be comfortable if a bit dated in the decoration department.Overall Golden Sands is ok value for money if you're in Dubai for a quick visit. Don't expect much.

Good honest value
I stayed at the Golden Sands 5 Aparthotel in a 1-bed studio for 2-weeks in April whilst over on a business trip to Dubai.What surprised me the most was how big the room was. Very good size and well equipped with fridge/freezer, washing machine, iron and ironing board, 2-sofas, dining room table and 2-chairs.The super king size bed was very comfortable with good quality bed linen.Super best features about this hotel:-Pool at roof level - ideal to chill out after a stressful day,Free wi-fiBusiness centre - ideal when you need to print out business emails or documents for meetingsThe location of the apartments was fantastic for my trip, as it turned out to be very central for the locations of my various clients. Easy walking distance to Al Fahidi metro station (less than 10 mins) and a bit further to Burjuman.Loads of taxis passing by the hotel so travel is no problem at all.There is a 24/7 convenience store across the road from the hotel that pretty much has everything that you may need food and drink wise.I found the hotel reception staff to be very polite and helpful every time I asked for any help or informationAll in all a very good value hotel that I would definitely stay at again for my next Dubai trip

Good Value, Friendly Helpful Staff, Very Clean
We are a family of 5, (2 adults, 3 children) and only stayed for 2 nights at Golden Sands (Tower 3) but were impressed. We were initially a little unsure what to expect as it was so well priced.We arrived there at 6am after flying through the night, and a after a short wait at Reception we were lucky enough to be allowed early access to our rooms. Staff were fantastic and we were most grateful to be able to grab a couple of hours sleep.Apartments are spacious and despite the bathrooms looking a little worn, we couldn't fault the cleanliness. Beds are very comfortable.Location is very good, with a fantastic supermarket nearby (walking distance, although with the heat, taxis are an excellent option (and cheap).Swimming pool was not huge but big enough for the kids to have a bit of fun, and it was lovely to have a cafe adjacent to the pool for coffee, drinks etc.Gym was very well equipped and the attendant there was friendly and helpful.We were very happy with our stay and would definitely consider staying there again.
