Brilliant location, nice rooms and wonderful service
Just back from five nights in Florence and stayed at the Pitti Palace Hotel that is literally 15 foot from the end of the Ponte Vecchio. All main sights were walkable and we discovered some wonderful places to eat off the beaten track too. Rooms were good size, i went with my best mate and there was sufficient hanging/storage in the room and bathroom. Bed was very large and very comfy. Breakfast was on the terrace on the 6th floor and you got a wonderful view of the Duomo, this doubles as a wine terrace later in the day. Staff were all very helpful and friendly, at breakfast and in the evenings- check out the special cocktail the waiter does. Unfortunately i got an abscess on my tooth whilst there and was in agony- the very helpful staff on reception tracked down a local dentist and even walked over there with me to explain the problem; with a prescription for antibiotics and painkillers i was able to enjoy the rest of our holiday pain free and able to eat again :-) There was some noise from the street but not unexpected considering the location and the hotel cannot be blamed for local building work being done. Would definately go back, and if you stay there i suggest you turn right out the front door and walk up the road either behind the hotel or along the river towards Santa Croche or the palace and gardens. Or got towards Spirito Santo for a younger vibe and great bars and osterias.

Great location
The hotel is in a great location, right next to Ponte Vecchio and right down the street from Pitti Palace. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel had reasonable prices. Breakfast was average/below average and there was a moldy smell, almost sewage-like coming from the drains. We closed the drains and filled the tub will water to block the odors.

Great Location but.....
Smelly and musty. Clean those carpets or remove them!! Fix your wifi hotspotsGet the ventilation fans going and circulat air in that place!Tell your staff that if breakfast finishes at 10.30... Anyone coming at that time should find all the items available and be caterd for. You cannot start closing and switching off items before. This was not an isolated case. People are there on holiday and they deserve a late breakfast!

Location, Location, Location!
At 20 paces from the south side of the Ponte Vecchio, this hotel was perfect for our 4 days in Florence. We were very close to all of the main attractions - the Uffizi Gallery, Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, the Duomo - and, of course, the famous bridge! Our room was very comfortable, clean and (surprisingly) quiet and the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the roof top terrace was a lovely way to start the day. This was our first trip to Florence and we were delighted to have booked such a well located Hotel.

Not right in the action, but close enough!
My sister and I stayed at the Pitti Palace in July of 2012. It's a nice hotel with friendly staff. It's located across the river right at the Ponte Vecchio. It's location is not in the center of the city, but very accessible to all the local sites and restaurants. The rooms were small, but nice. There is a small refrigerator in each room which they stock with waters. The breakfast is very nice and on the rooftop over looking the beautiful city of Florence. I would definitely recommend the Pitti Palace to anyone looking for a nice hotel on a budget!
