Bright, Clean, Modern for Jumping Off or On the Airport
Large, bustling, hotel, but perfect for a jumping off place coming into the Netherlands or leaving as it is close to the airport with a free shuttle. Meals are a huge buffet that often resembles an ant hill there are so many tourists. The new part is quieter, for now, and the rooms are modern and nicely appointed, though it currently shares the main hotel reception, dining and bar. For what it is, a busy airport hotel, it is a fine place to stay.Do not, however, expect any help with your luggage, as you will get none. However the staff at the desk, particularly the young men are courteous and go out of their way to be helpful.

Comfortable enough for money payed
Convenient location, well set shuttle survice, experienced and helpful staff, clean and spacy room and bathroom, comfortable beds, enough room for luggage - that was what we needed and what we received in full. We had an overnight on 25th April there. My next trip to Amsterdam is scheduled in August and most probably I'll book same hotel again. Ah, not to forget: restaurant was pretty good as well. Wide choice of meals and wines at reasonable prices.

Good standard and value
Stayed at the A4 Schiphol 25th - 28th April.We'd searched high and low for decent accommodation at a reasonable price in Amsterdam itself but all were too pricey or had negative reviews or were hostels. Although we hadn't planned on staying near the airport, the A4 seemed the best combination of price and standard.PositivesFriendly staff.Free shuttle bus. Twice hourly from 6.00am to 11.40pm.Not too close to the airport to be noisy.Large room for the price.Large bathroom with both shower over bath and cubicle.Cubicle shower the most powerful and invigorating I've ever had. Would punch a hole right through you if turned on full!Off-hotel food hall with a good steakhouse, a diner style caf¿¿, a Chinese restaurant, a restaurant with a variety of food stations (pizza, salad etc.), a small supermarket, a KFC and a Burger King.Each room has its own balcony where smoking is permitted.Free in-room wi fi with, mostly, a good signal.Very large TV with CNN, BBC NEWS 24 and beeb 1 and 2.NegativesWe found we had to be disciplined in getting up and out and on the bus. Too easy to lie in, or if you didn't want to stay out in the evening in the city, too easy to just go over to the steakhouse.Hotel restaurant a bit expensive. It also catered for large-party reservations, so wasn't always available. E.g. on the Saturday night there was a very colourful wedding.The air con was next to useless: min temp 17deg C and no cool air option; the nighttime temperature on our first night was around that, so not comfortable at all.The bed appeared comfortable but in the mornings we both felt like we'd been trodden on by elephants. Really bad backache.No coffee making facilities.D¿¿cor a bit jaded in places.Overall we would stay again. Room prices in Amsterdam are steep and even though we searched several weeks in advance we couldn't find anything decent. Our budget put us inbetween hostel prices and good city hotels, although the latter were out of our reach by some margin.Airport hotels and this one in particular represent an alternative worth checking out. The standard room rate was ¿¿¿225 per night; we paid ¿¿¿85 p.n.

Well run, very comfortable and top-class restaurant
I have stayed overnight at this hotel for five years and it has always met the highest standards of customer service, comfort and it's restaurant is memorable, The quality and variety of the breakfast buffet would be hard to beat.

Nice hotel, best price
Given the low price we had low expectations for our accommodations. We were pleasantly surprised to find both comfort and cleanliness and perhaps even a touch of luxury. Everything was clean and appeared relatively new. The hotel restaurant prices were a bit too expensive but located right next door are multiple restaurants for large and small budgets alike. We changed our minds and didn't use the airport shuttle because of the Park & Ride program that provides tram tickets to and from the City Center for 5 people included in the cost of parking which was only 8 Euro at the Olympic Stadium. Otherwise, we would have taken the free shuttle to the airport and paid to take the tram into town. The pool was fair sized and warm enough for comfort. The Wi-Fi was free and it worked just fine in our room. We were on the ground floor and had a back yard so to speak, nice for a breath of fresh air in the morning. I highly recommend this hotel and will return should I visit Amsterdam again.
