Trying to Improve
This was my fourth B&B in 8 days. I was made welcome by the new owners who are trying to improve the place. My room was nice and warm, first one since my return, from winter overseas. A light was out and fixed next morning, Breakfast was full english and was nice. It is a Hotel with lots of early riser subbies so you do get room noise. Water takes a while to get warm and shower a bit feeble. Fresh Towels each day and my room was spacious and relatively clean. Staff friendly and helpfull, free wi-fi, small TV in room and lots of self service tea making kit. Bed was fresh and clean all be it I could feel some springs. Pub with sky and chippy with seating very near. Depends what your expectations are and how fussy you are, I would go back and I wish them well for the future

Hated every second
FIrstly the hotel was in the middle of no where! The first room I was given was still dirty with food all over the place and looked like people was still occupying the room. I then complained and was given a slightly better room which was in the furthest part of the building. As I walked through the corridors, the first smelt of Indian Food, the second of cigarette smoke, the third cannabis smoke and the forth of strong cleaning products. The room was cleaner however really needed a massive hoover and the carpet needed cleaning. The walls were paper thin so I heard the person next door coughing all night long which kept me up. When I woke up to have a shower there was no hot water at all and having a cold shower before work is not a good way to start the day. I was told that I was unable to leave the premises between midnight and 9am if I wanted to get back in as there would be no staff on site. The light in the toilet was flicking on and off constantly, so the bathroom was unusable without the light and there was no staff on the premises at the time to fix it, so I have to dismantle it myself and replace the starter. 1 Star is too generous for this place and I assure you, booking this place would be a big mistake!!

Keep away-Awful place
This must be the worst place we have stayed in for a long time. You arrive at reception at it makes you want to turn around and go home. It's dirty and drab. Smells like it could do with a good scrub.The rooms are no better. So small you cannot move. Bed was as old as the hills with springs nearly through.Went to the bar for a drink served by the only person we saw during our stayAdvertise a restaurant which was closed. No mention of breakfast was made, so assume this was also none existent. Would not have eaten there if it was last place on earth. Had booked for two nights but decided after one not to go back for love or money. These sort of places should be closed down.

Excellent Value for Money
We stayed here with my son and his girlfriend for a weekend, while visiting family and were a little hesitant about booking at first due to the very cheap room rates:-) ¿¿29 per room per night. When we arrived we were immediatly given a free upgrad to a suite (my son wasn't - not happy!). Rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious (for price) with freeserve TV and free wi-fi, the furnishings in the bathroom are showing signs of ageing and the carpets are a little ill-fitting. The bar and breakfast area has, however, been recently re-furbished and is lovely. The cook (from Sweden) was excellet and extremely helpfull. Breakfast is great with delicious locally sourced sausages. The receptionest was also extremely helpfull. We will definately being staying again. Excellent value for money with no frills. Oh, nearly forgot to mention the free car park.

Value for money
Needed a hotel for one night and called in to the hotel at 6.00pm on spec. we were offered a twin room with breakfast for a very reasonable price. The room was tired but clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was adequate and the shower had plenty of hot water although the water pressure was a bit low. Towels were soft and spotless. Breakfast was very good considering the price paid. Only downside was that the dustmen called at neighbouring properties at 5.00am and made quite a noise.
