Nice rooms, great pool
I've stayed here 5 or 6 times for business over the last year. Since I don't work near the strip, this place is ideal to avoid some of the heavy Las Vegas traffic. The pool, gym, and spa are all very nice and enjoyable, and for me. The rooms have huge bathrooms with a large jetted tub. Restaurants were all average - after staying here a few times and eating at them all, I almost always eat out elsewhere, luckily there are decent options nearby. There is no concierge lounge, and no free breakfast for Marriott gold/platinum members (all membership gets you is free access to the gym/spa). While the rooms come with a small drink cooler, it is NOT a mini-fridge, so it will not keep things like milk or yogurt cool. You can request a mini-fridge, but if there is high demand, you likely won't get one for a few days. You definitely will want a rental car if you are staying here. There is a sand volleyball court, but if you want to play here, you must bring your own ball - the lifeguards have balls, but they are all punctured and deflated!

Wonderful resort can't wait to be back.
Had a wonderful experience here. It was so nice to be far away from the LV strip. Excellent close by restaurants and shopping. Food was excellent at the hotel as well. Great room service with excellent service. The hotel was very quiet with no issues with noises. My room was just a standard room however it was a very large room with plenty of space. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and walkin shower with two shower heads. I will definitely be staying here again soon.

Not impressed with room or service
I stayed at this Marriott for a conference in May of 2013. I wasn't impressed with my room at all - I had a room directly behind the elevator that I was told was a 'deluxe balcony room' at checkin. My balcony was a nearly enclosed cinder block space with a small window with a view of another structure and not even enough room to put any furniture on (see pictures). I was kept awake all night the first night with the sound of the elevator, and when I asked to move to another room the next day I was told to call back later (no apology was given). I called later and was told a guest services manager would contact me and none did. I was unable to change rooms.There was a toothpick and clumps of dark hair on the floor of my bathroom when I arrived on Wednesday and they were still there when I checked out on Saturday. The main shower handle kept turning itself to full hot water, then stopped working completely on the last day.I tried multiple times to reach a guest services manager about all of these items and no one ever called me back. I mentioned it at checkout and was just given a business card of a manager (Yvette) and was asked to call her.The casino was older and low energy, but the dealers seemed to be nice. The restaurants were all decent (Irish Pub, Italian, cafe, buffet).The location ($50 cab ride to the strip) combined with all of this poor experience mean I'll not stay at this location again unless I have no other choice.

Can't wait to return!!
We decided to stay at the JW Marriott because we had Marriott points to burn. We stayed 5 nights in April, 2013. The resort is a sanctuary away from the noise and crowds on the Las Vegas strip. We had a room with french doors to a private patio. The pool is lovely, though it was already hot for Vegas. We enjoyed the connecting Rampart Casino. They were quite generous with comps for casino play. We received 4 lobster dinners and a massage in the spa. The grounds are filed with flowers and plantings. The resort was so inviting that we hardly used our rental car!! We chose to enjoy everything on the Marriott grounds.

A Hidden Gem!
My daughter and I chose the JW due to its proximity to my son's home and will definitely stay there again. We had a standard room, nothing standard about it.....ample space with a ginormous bathroom, spa tub and rain shower plus a walkin closet. The entire staff was very efficient and friendly. The pool scene was perfect, with a separate area for families. Poolside food service was tasty and reasonable. If you choose to forego clean towels and sheets, you get a $10 credit each day.If you still require the Vegas nightlife, the strip is a short easy drive away. But during the daylight hours, why not relax in a world away from the chaos?
