Is this really a Westin
Wow! I used to go to this hotel all the time with my mom, dad and siblings when I was younger. We all decided to go back for a mini reunion. First of all, the hotel has not changed in 20 years. The rooms are still the same. Secondly, the bathroom was dirty and everything seemed a bit dusty. Two things have changed though. First, the prices have gone way up and the only thing you are paying for is the location. If you want luxury, stay somewhere else. The other thing that changed is the service. I have never been to a hotel with worse service. I don't know why they have doormen at the hotel, because I didn't see one doorman open a door or help with getting taxi's. I also think if you are paying top dollar for a hotel that claims to be 4 stars, then please put a newspaper at my door in the morning. There is nothing more aggravating than having to go downstairs to get a paper. Not only was the furniture and decor outdated, but the phone in the room was from the 90's. The only two things great about the hotel are location and the bar next door. Aside from that, forget about it!!!

Great location but less than heavenly
Location is excellent but rooms and baths are small and don't come close to the definition of heavenly. One of our three rooms had a nice view of Michigan Avenue but the other two rooms had a view of back alley nothingness. One room had a smoke smell left over from the last guest. We misplaced a purse so searched under the bed only to find it had not been cleaned for some time. Rooms were noisy and could hear other guest sounds throughout the night. The breakfast at the Westin restaurant was very good. I won't be back as there are many nicer hotels in the area for the same or slightly higher rates.

Great hotel in stunning location.
Not sure what earlier reviewer Ron was on, I had a great experience with Westin Michigan Avenue. I arrived at close to midnight to have the desk staff apologies for a double Queen bed room. I was by myself so 2 beds is one more than I need. The room was clean and tidy, everything was in place and working. Yes I looked out onto a building being renovated, but how much time do you spend looking out the window? I asked about the advertised free wifi and this was sorted out immediately for me. Our conference facilities were good, food all fantastic and all staff brilliant to deal with.

Great Customer Service
I contacted the Reservation Department and spoke to Ms. Raiven Williams regarding some confusion with my hotel registration that was booked via a trade association. Ms. Williams went above and beyond on checking into this situation with the trade association and made sure that I was provided with an answer. Ms. Williams displayed a tremendous commitment to customer service and this is greatly appreciated. Upon the stay at the hotel, the staff members were incredibly helpful and friendly. I will recommend the hotel due to its friendly staff and its great location.

Couldn't have asked for better service!
Upon entering the hotel, I noticed the excitement and buzz from the folks staying there to the team members. Everyone seemed to be very happy to be there. Including me! It was my first time staying in Chicago and I think that this was the perfect place to be. Everything was within walking distance or a short and inexpensive taxi ride. The employees were friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious! I would definitely recommend staying here while visiting or just taking a staycation if living in Chicago!
