Second rate citizens!!! Not at all what you pay for!!!!
I have never written a review before but i just think that people should not be deceived! My husband and I have going up to Lake Placid this time every year for six years. This year was our worse experience ever!!! By far the most we have ever paid for a room and it was dirty and the bed was about the size of a twin bed! You check in across the street at High Peaks Resorts. The staff was very rude to us upon check in and check out! Almost felt like you did not matter! The charges got messed up and I was charged twice for the room! They also charge you at check in for incidentals without telling you and their reasoning is "in case you go out and have no money at check out at least we will get our money" that is a direct quote from the lady on the phone after I saw the charges when I got home! Location was good but other than services and accommodations were absolutely terrible!

Great place!
We stopped in Lake Placid for the night without a reservation. We were able to get a room here for a very reasonable price considering it was in season. The room ws extremely clean and had a fantastic view! The location was perfect - we were able to walk to town without the hassle of finding a parking space. We will be back!

Love this spot!
Perfectly situated across from Mirror Lake. It has all lake views. It is an older renovated motel with outside doors and the price reflects this. Itis not a four star property. It is a three star with stellar view, perfect location, nice service and pets allowed If the pricing remains competitive this is perfect.

Not as nice as others, but still clean, good location and good value.
A previous review was correct in that the High Peaks Resort was a much nicer hotel, but you are still able to share all the same amenities as the High Peaks Resort, your just in a different, older building. Essentially, if you wanna to stay in a more updated comparable room next door, you can pay 30-40 bucks more a night.With that said, this place was still very good. Our room looked directly out over the lake and had a small balcony with seats. Room was very clean and bed comfy. There may be cheaper deals, but not in this location or looking out over the lake.

Good Value,Great Location
I was very supprised to see negative reviews. I stayed here in 2011 for 4 days and 3 daysthis year. The room I had was large and clean. The bathroom was a little small but cleanand not a big deal. The staff was friendly and helpful both in person and on the phone.The location is perfect with a clear view of Mirror Lake. I watched fireworks from my room onenight. You have acccess to the amenities at High Peaks Resort across the road. For whatI paid I don't think I could have done better.
