Average
This is an ok hotel, does what it needs to do, and somewhere to get your head down......as long as you get a decent rate. There is an ok pub down the road for a few beers and a bite to eat. Rooms are just average and a little tired to be honest.

Excellent small hotel
We only stayed one night in this small hotel and in a fairly typical Holiday Inn room. However, service was great, staff very friendly and helpful and the room spotless. Being a Saturday, the restaurant had been pre-booked for a wedding so we had the choice of eating in our room, which wasn't feasible, or in the very small lounge area. Food was good, though a little overpriced, and foreign staff struggled with basic English, not understanding the word "cutlery" and offering us a "desert" (yes, a large sandy area), though that added to the fun! The breakfast was superb; definitely the best Holiday Inn cooked breakfast we have ever had in 100 plus stays at various properties. Would we go again? Definitely!

Excellent
I hope this is the correct Holiday Inn, we stayed at the one on Bedford Road. We paid a bit extra and had a deluxe suite, very good, We don't usually use the restaurant in the hotels we stay at but we did on this occasion. Usually there is not much we fancy but when I went into the bar the barman showed me a weekend special, two courses for ¿¿9.95. it was excellent, My wife had pate and lasagne I had onion bahji and chicken tikka with nan bread it was the best onion bahji I have ever had (and I've had a few) There was a wedding going on and the hotel offered room service at no charge but we opted to dine in the bar .I have to put in a good word for the staff they were excellent, one problem we had the duvet was very thin and we mentioned it at the desk and there was another one delivered within ten minutes. the only downside was that there are only two disabled parking spaces at the front of the hotel so I had to park right at the back and by the time I had got to my room my ankle had swelled up considerably, this is why we decided to dine in the hotel and we were glad that we did.

nice stay
we were running marathons over 2 days, registration was at this hotel so a perfect base. Prices were very reasonable, rooms typical of a holiday inn, clean comfy bed what more do you need? staff were helpful & friendly nothing to fault the hotel. You could easily walk into the centre of town in about 15-20mins,but there are few pubs within a few mins walk.Breakfast good and other restaurant food was nice too.Nothing to complain about

Pleasantly surprised!
A very normal Holiday inn. Great location for our meeting in the centre of Northampton, 2 miles from the centre.I had no special expectations of the hotel, there are nicer, newer Holiday inns all over the country.Clean , tidy, good gym. Small bar area and small restaurant Sit outside and you listen to the traffic going past. What was great was the 2 menus, the normal fare including the ' Trio of burgers' very nice. The other menu was all Indian, again no great expectation but to our surprise all the Indian dishes chosen between us all were very very good! 8 out of the 12 of us chose the Indian menu, all enjoyed their meals. Good little Holiday Inn, would go back any time.
