Average to Good Hotel
I got a good price for this hotel and overall it was a fair stay. The foyer is grand, and the breakfast was excellent. The city was too far for us to walk but you can take their shuttle for a few euros. I think a lot of people stay here for local trade fairs but it's also a good location for seeing the city, eating in nice cafes and generally seeing some of Verona. If my Italian was better I'm sure we would of avoided some of the smaller problems (I wanted to change a towel) but overall communication was easy enough.

Very good hotel indeed.
We stayed at the Hotel Leon d'Oro for the past three days during the Vinitaly Fair. From our experience we disagree with many reviews as we found it excellent. I think it is under new management since the start of the year which has probably made a big difference. It is an elegant foyer/bar area with extensive lounge areas and they served very attractive aperitivi nibbles in the evening. The reception staff were extremely friendly, professional and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, the right heat level and very well maintained. Breakfast was enormous and the coffee extra good which is not always the case in this type of self-service buffet. Plenty of choice of savoury and sweet, cooked and Continental. The hotel provided a ( not free, ¿¿¿4 single journey) shuttle to fair and city centre but it is walkable also to both in about 20 minutes. The cost was expensive but not exorbitant given it was a major trade fair right on its doorstep.
