May 2013
This hotel was situated in a perfect area in Rome, a short walk from the bars and restaurants, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, and the hop on hop off buses which are vital for seeing all of the sights of Rome. We were situated in the annex part of the building, the rooms were clean and we weren't disappointed with the decor, the reason why I booked this particular hotel. I will be returning to Rome and would recommend this Hotel

If you like big bathrooms this is the place for you!
This hotel is well located and reasonable for central Rome. It's in a quiet neighborhood, which is worth thinking about in this city. If you don't mind walking, you can walk to most any of the major attractions (except St. Peters Basilica and the Coliseum area). It is clean, the staff are helpful and the breakfast on the rooftop is fine, though nothing to boast about. The bathroom was very large and entirely renovated with a huge beautifully tiled tub and all sorts of gadgets--but no towel racks! The actual bedroom was pretty small and cramped (as is the case for many hotels in Italy), possibly smaller than the bathroom! It was slightly less claustrophobic if we had the French windows open, which you can do because there is very little street noise. The decor is all red and gold--definitely not my taste, but the beds themselves and linens were nice. Elevators are very slow in the mornings around breakfast and check-out times.

honest review
After reading very mixed reviews of the hotel I went there with an open mind and fairly low expectations. It is worth staying here for the location, its really central (and on an offer very good value compared to other central hotels which we found very expensive generally), in a quiet spot and you can easily walk everywhere you want to go in 15-30 mins. The promotion we booked had us upgraded to one of the "suites" (shown in the picture) which was large but the decor was run down and a very tatty (as was the rest of the hotel except the lobby which was nice) and it wasn't really luxurious. However, there were clean sheets and towels and the bathroom was spotless and very modern which was the main thing for us as we spent little time in the hotel. The room was very spacious and had a nice balcony which was lovely in the sun although the "Jacuzzi" was filthy. Breakfast was a non event, nice roof terrace though. If you are happy with a piece of toast and a coffee before you head out, which is all we wanted, then its fine but otherwise you will be disappointed. Overall, we booked the hotel on a special promotion and didn't pay much for it. I didn't see the other rooms but had it not been for the upgrade to the bigger room with the balcony, and if we had paid full price, I would have been extremely disappointed. (were a couple in our early 20's)

Accommodation
We booked the same hotel in Rome as the one nominated in the holiday deal with our travel agent. The hotel room on both occasions was good, plenty of room. In general everything was god and the staff were always very obliging. Have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

A perfect example of kitsch
My friend and I were staying in this hotel just for two nights in May and we would never go back.To say the truth the hotel is located very comfortable to see some interesting sights: Spanish stairs, Diocletian¿¿¿s Terms, and what was most important for us, villa Borghese we¿¿¿ve came to see. This¿¿¿s good. All the rest is fraud. Before going on a trip I checked the hotel photos which looked very promising. Don¿¿¿t trust them because in reality the rooms¿¿¿ interior is the very sample of KITSCH.We were sent to the room 219 which size resembled a wooden school pencil case from -50th, with the ragged walls and faded paintings on the wooden surfaces. For two of us we had one queen bed, though pretty comfortable, one chair and one suitcase holder. The room had not a single drawer for the small stuff, but two huge mirrors in the heavy gilded frames were supposed to impose an impression of the king¿¿¿s apartments. Oh! Almost forgot: there were quite a few lights covered with something like headgear in red color, probably husby¿¿¿ At least we felt as if being protected by Hussars. And for all that no hooks in the bathroom to hang bathrobes and no shelf in the shower for shampoo.Breakfast was pretty humble particularly comparing to the breakfast we enjoined before in Bari also four-star but incomparable luxurious hotel Mercuri Villa Romanazzi Carducci. In the end I would suggest the owner of this hotel should think really hard about the rooms refurbishment and changing the hotel advertisement as three star to not mislead potential patrons.
