Old & In Need of a Redo
Although well located in Rome, this hotel is old & tired. Needs a complete redo/remodel. Our room was small, bathroom tub is a safety hazard for senior citizens. When showering, tub is high to step over, and the sides taper to a narrow bottom, making it unsafe to turn around while showering. Wallpaper peeling, carpet threadbare. Definitely would look for another hotel to stay at, while in Rome.

Close to everything
When we first showed up, we thought there would be underground parking but found out it was across the street on another road, Price was around ~65 Euro for 3 days. The hotel is not a 4* maybe a 3* at most. The room was dull and wireless and wired was not free to use. The benefit from the hotel was it was near mostly all attractions and 5 minute walk to the Vatican. Try and get a room not facing the road it was pretty loud after 7 am

Good location but.....
The AW Cicerone Hotel gives itself four stars. I say that should be two stars for the hotel plus two for the location.On the positive side would be the food service and staff. The meals we had during our conference were excellent. The bartender in the lobby bar was great. And, the location couldn't have been much better. It is an easy walk to the Vatican and a reasonable walk to the Forum and Coliseum. Many good basic and upscale restaurants a nearby.On the negative side, the room (#504)we had was straight out of Motel 6. The wall paper was nicked and separating; the finish on the bathroom door was peeling; the carpet has seen better days; and the decor no way matches the pictures on the hotel website. The hotel caters to large tour groups (Globus, Trafalgar, ? Cruises) which means often the small lobby was packed with suitcases. For the special conference price of 200¿¿¿ , I would rather stay at a B&B.

One of my favorites....
I just came back from my trip to Rome where I stayed in three hotels in four days! I have to say that this hotel was one of my favorites. The hotel is a beautiful hotel - both outside and inside. On the outside, it has a very classy elegant look. On the inside there's a nice lobby with a bar. The gentleman that I dealt with at the front desk, while not overly friendly, was certainly nice enough. I was a bit disappointed that I had to pay for Wi-Fi even though the booking information said it was free, but since I got such a great rate (booked it the day before), I can't really complain, although it was ¿¿¿9 and was good only on one device. Maybe that's something they can work on. The hallways are clean and classy looking, and the room was lovely. I think I had a superior room but I'm not quite sure. The room was quiet and I was pleased with the size of the room. It actually looks exactly like on their website. The bathroom was immaculate as well and the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Air conditioning worked great as well. Like most European hotels, the TV only had one English speaking TV station. (I already knew that would happen so I downloaded a few movies to my iPad before l left home!) They had a lovely breakfast with pretty much anything you want, and if you ask for a cappuccino, they make it fresh and bring it out. The bed was a bit uncomfortable for my tastes but all in all I was extremely happy with the hotel. The neighborhood around it is more of an upscale residential and shopping area, which I loved. It was a pretty neighborhood with tree lined streets and lots going on. You're still close enough to the sights, but the surrounding area was safe and fun to walk for miles. Just shops after shops after shops. As a solo traveller, I was very pleased with the neighborhood and how safe I felt. And right across the street is the most delicious Pizzeria called the Grotto Azzurra! Great food & great prices! recommend it very highly!!! I will definitely stay here on my next trip!

great location
The hotel Cicerone was very comfortable and the staff very helpful.The location was perfect, the airport shuttle bus stops just around the corner so just get off at The Vatican, the first stop and a short walk to hotel. All the main attractions were within easy walking distance and the bus for the colosseum stopped right outside the Hotel, although this was only a 30min walk and some nice places to be found on the way. The old town was also about 20/30min walk where more bars/restaurants can be found and some interesting shops. The rooms were well equipped but fairly small so the twin beds were a little too close together but as a city hotel thats to be expected, other than that every thing with regards to the room was good. The breakfast was plentiful but a little repetitious. However there was a good variety of food to choose from so was ok for a few days visit. All in all this hotel is a great base for a stay in Rome and would definitely stay here again on a return visit.
