Honestly, not worth it
I'm still here at the hotel. 2more nights I booked through Travelzoo. A lot of pros and cons. Pros: great breakfast selection, clean, close to bus stop.Cons: yes the train and metro are walking distance but that's if you want to walk on the street due to sidewalk stops halfway and for 20mins. First time walking to metro, all you can inhale is the smoke all the cars are driving by with... (Also really dangerous), then they don't have plug converters. Receptionist says people don't return them so now they will have a sec deposit of 10¿¿ but STILL don't have any right now. Ok. Every room comes with ash trays and Kleenex... I've had allergies since I've been here so ran out of Kleenex. RequestedThat this morning it's 8:05pm now and still nothing. The reason why it pushed me to writing a comment, there has been construction work on the other side of room for about an hour now. Called receptionist. They had no clue what was going on. Drills going off every 5sec. Seems like they really don't care about their customers. Nice name and looking hotel but its just a pretty Face... The service is not as expected especially with all the prev reviews I read. The small hotel we stayed in previously in Paris was more worthy

Convenient Location
The BW Blu Roma is located in a somewhat urban area close to a small mall (walking distance) where you can get bottled water which will come in handy throughout your travels unless you prefer to pay the street vendor price which is significantly higher. The area is busy, but quite convenient to the Tiburtina train station where the Metro will drop you off a few blocks from the Vatican or exactly outside the Colosseum for just 1.50 Euros each way, per person; we found this to be the most cost effective and convenient mode of transportation. To get to the hotel we used a non-standard taxi and decided on a amount before we left the airport (50 euros). I would highly recommend using a metered taxi, it might be a little cheaper; the taxi's will charge you per bag and don't have a problem adding a few euros "just because". That was our experience to the Rome train station, going to Florence. The diver added 6 Euros and we only had 4 bags. I asked about it, and he gave me some excuse but I didn't want to haggle over $2.80. I tipped very little and especially not the taxi drivers.When we arrived around 1ish, Kevin was at the front desk and was pleasant and really the most friendly and informative staff person during our stay, he told us about the mall, bus, and train station first thing; unfortunately that was only time we saw him. The staff was overall friendly but Kevin stood out.The room was sufficient, One English channel but you can change the settings on the TV on some of the American shows and it will switch to English. Wait until you see how the power is controlled at the hotels; I can't tell you everything :-). The food was okay, though I must say, I never saw the bacon as on person wrote and the scrambled eggs went from runny to slightly firm during our 3 day stay; the fruit juices they have were different and very good. I stuck to the croissants and juices and a few pieces of fruit daily. The only issue I had was loud noise in the hallway on our second night there, at about 3 am. I told the front desk clerk and he said he was not aware of it. There are cameras in some of the areas around the hotel. I was never concerned about our safety during the trip. I don't know what we paid as the hotel was part of a package; but it met our needs. I would recommend staying at the hotel.

Nice for the weekend
Best Western Blu Hotel Rome is desirably situated near by Tiburtina Station ( short walk- max 20 min but tight pavement). We were there with our children and we were content. It is four-star hotel but I think Rome has your own( different) star system but everything was OK. Every day we had clean room, bedclothes and towels. Air-condition was great. Breakfast was good, European not typical Italian(slices of chees and cold cuts, scrambled eggs with bacon and hard-boiled eggs, off course cakes and croissant). Were there coffee machines but I recommend ask waiter especially espresso and macchiato. I had a try American coffee from coffee machine and it was tasteless. But espresso or other coffee from waiter is delicious. Service was great an helpful in hotel and cafeteria. Internet Wi-Fi inside room was fast.

Great price for value, will return for sure
This is a very nice hotel. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet is quite good. Rooms are well equipped and maintained. It is sort of outside town, quite close to the Tiburtina metro station, which is at 10 to 14 minutes walk. This is also convenient because you can take the bus to Tiburtina and then get to Termini by Metro if you want to change lines for going to the Vatican city. Or, stay in the same metrio line and get to the Coliseum and other close by attractions.On the plus side, there is a cheap way to get from and to Fiumicino airport by taking the FR1 metropolitan train from Tiburtina (8.00 EUR per person) and the trip takes around 45 minutes.The hotel restaurant is not that good and a little expensive. Ask the staff for directions and get to a nearby restaurant La Nduja (around 600m from the hotel) which is great food for good prices.Will happily return to this hotel in the future.
