Lovely hotel but noisy and room
We had two rooms at this hotel and two different experiences. One room (137) was quite dark with no view whatsoever and was near a service door which, when closed, caused the whole bed to shake. This lasted on and off until about midnight. The other room (132) was on the street front so had a view and was very light but did have some street noise. Both our rooms suffered from a power shortage at around 4.30am which caused ALL the room lights to come on and required getting out of bed to turn them off. However, it is a lovely hotel with a lot of character and the breakfast was fabulous and included in our room rate which I thought was very reasonable - Euros 87 per room per night. Staff pretty friendly and location for town great. Genoa is an underrated city and we enjoyed our time there.

The room was looking at the retaurant's air conditionning
I left earlier on friday at 2pm and as I paid you for two nights I asked for a refund, The answer was no. I had to pay ¿¿¿ 28.- of tax and parking, I said use the money of the second night that I will not use. The answer was no. Apart from that the location was convenient to walk to the harbour, where I had great news !

Ticks all the boxes
We stayed in Genoa for one night at the end of our holiday. We arrived by train (the hotel is very near to the station) and got to the airport using the Volabus - Genoa airport does not have a train connection. The Volabus was fine but at 6 euros each (bought from the news kiosk) it seemed a bit of a rip off compared to the brilliant Italian rail service we had been using.We followed the advice given by another Tripadvisor reviewer and asked asked for a room at the front of the hotel, which was granted - thank you. Lovely room, big windows you could open, comfortable bed and new wooden floor. What more to say....Everything was very clean. Lovely quirky old lift. Good breakfast. You can access the terrace of the hotel next door - 7th floor of The Savoy, which has lovely views of the city. The lady at the Continental reception was very helpful. No complaints and would recommend this hotel.

Excellent Hotel
The facade of the Hotel does not do it justice. Inside its very nice all round from the foyer, staircase and antique lift (which is all part of the joy in staying in Europe). Excellent service and hotel was spotlessly clean througout include our room.We only stayed one night so being near train station was perfct, but also very good for sightseeing around town.The only area for improvement may be in the ventilation fans from bathrooms. We found we got a cigaratte smoke smell coming from another floor / room through our bathroom. Nothing too bad and would not have any concerns staying in same room again, but just something we did notice.

Firstly Italy costs moreIt is ¿¿25.00 taxi to the train station Genoa from the AirportBus Costs ¿¿6 Its only about 5 miles This hotel is nice rooms are niceslippers in the bathroom you can take home plus shampoo and bits.It has sky which you can put into English.A mini bar which you pay for.Plus a brilliant free safe you put your code in and then it works from that.The room we had was on the 4th floor room 332 which overlooked the front of the hotel.The rooms are spacious wooden floors memory foam mattress beds and great bathroom.The staff are very friendly and niceThere is a computer in reception you can useThe lift is an old really old, wooden loved it, first floor there is a modern lift.The breakfast room is great with masses to eat.There is cereals, fruit, cheeses, hams, cooked breakfast, many different breads,yogurts, cakes, croissants, biscuits, many fruit juices tea coffee fruit teas the lot etc etc Its a restaurant 2 Its Sister hotel is the Savoy right next door and there you go for the spa.One thing there is now in Italy a tax another tax lol its 2 euros a night to stay in Italy Genoa port loved it had the pizza and ice-cream, went into church`s walked around the Harbour - walked and walked, things do cost more there you have to look and find the cheaper shops and restaurantsLoved it even though it costs more it was really easy to get from the airport to station to hotelWould go back again When you get off the bus its a 1 minute walk across the square to the hotel, the harbour is 5 mins away
