Good location
Stayed for a long weekend with girl friends, had booked 4 x standard twin rooms, we were given room 226, a friend 120 and the other two rooms 319 and 320, both third floor rooms were lovely and looked out to sea and Palma in the distance, good size rooms. Our 226 room was awful, tiny with two tiny wardrobes, one in a small alcove where you had to squash against the wall to open the door and then it was too dark to see inside, tiny bedside tables, dark room over looking dreadful buildings, we asked for a change of room but hotel was full that night, we stated that there was no comparison between 226 and our friends third floor rooms but reply was that was the luck of the draw! We paid to upgrade for the following two nights. We were extremely unhappy with this dreadful room and happier in the upgraded pool view room, still seemed unfair that we paid to upgrade to a room which still wasn't as good as our friends standard room on third floor. Beds were good (after we removed the plastic under sheet which made sleeping very hot).Apart from the room episode the hotel is lovely, staff are very good and attentive, pool area is good, bar good and excellent breakfast. Hotel about 15 euro taxi ride to Palma and local bars, restaurants about 5 mins walk away. Great for a long weekend, only downfall was that awful room.

Lovely Hotel
We stayed here on the last three days of our two week holiday and the hotel is very impressive. Very smart. The rooms were clean and of a high standard, shower was very powerful which was a bonus. Staff all very lovely and always smiling especially Lupe in the resturant - what a delightful young lady. The food was good but could have been better for the evening meals. Breakfasts were the best and contrary to bacon being crozzled like it is in some places, it was not here and was cooked to perfection as so were the eggs which made a delightful change. Variety very good.The best aspect is that we had a front panoramic view with a terrace bigger than some kitchens and quipped with super sun beds, umbrella and table ............ the only negative on the terrace was that the decking was loose and this needs to be attended to. I think another reviewer has mentioned the decking also.The outside seating area is superb with the most up-to-date padded chairs and beautiful lighting with piped music - super. An added attraction in the days we stayed is that they had a large group of Swiss people who came to dance to Salsa music - the music and dancers were fantastic and livened up the days.This hotel has ramps and lifts - a huge bonus for heavy luggage All in all, a very pleasant stay ........... expensive though and although the room was good, coffee making facilities were absent of which should be set in place for the price they charge for the rooms ........... you can rent a kettle but this defeats the object really.We did enjoy it very much. Oh and because its so close to the airport, planes were flying over (in and out) constantly. This didnt bother us but it may bother those who are not fond of listening to the drone of the engines every few minutes.

Lovely Hotel
The Hotel is definetly a 4* accomodation that caters for all nationalities with little extras like pool towel hire, bike hire, internet access, non alcholic lager, and British TV channels if you want them and more. The Hotel is spotlessly clean, the staff were constantly cleaning the hotel. The hotel is modern, and as other people have mentioned, is close to the airport and beach, but it didnt bother us as no flights took place during night time.The food was 1st class, excellent choice, and freshly made with always a nightly choice of fish, meat and vegetarian dishes.The rooms were nicely decorated with complimentary slippers,cloice of pillow types, mini bar, flat screen tv and even upgrades on arrival if available at a charge.The entertainment was very low key, with a pianist and saxaphonist which was not our cup of tea, so we went to Palma City which was only 1.50 Euros on the bus.With regards to location , lovely view across the bay and a great position if you enjoy cycling or walking, with Playa de Palma beach a short walk away. The Areanal to Can Pastilla train is a nice way to see the coast line.Finally, we recommend the train journey from Palma to Soller, although bare in mind the train from the Port De Soller back to Soller village do not run for about 4 hours, you need to plan your trip accordingly.Overall it was an excellent stay!

Brilliant Food
We stayed at the Marina Luz for 5 nights in mid-April. We have stayed many times in Can Pastilla but this was our first time at the Marina Luz. I would have to say that the staff and food were just excellent and probably the best food we have had apart from our usual holiday on cruise ships. Breakfast offered an excellent selection and the dinner menu varied each night of our stay. The hotel is in a good location on the sea front but you are best taking the short walk into Can Pastilla town to get a good beach. You can hire a cycle from 5 euro a day and enjoy a ride into Palma or Arenal on an impressive board cycle/walk. I would recommend a bus trip we went on to a market in Sineu which has been going since the 14th century. Well worth a visit and I'm not really a market person. Next we went onto Fortaventura, from there a boat trip to Porta Pollensa for lunch. An excellent trip overall.My only criticism of the Marina Luz is that although it is advertised as having air conditioning in bedrooms, this was not switched on when the temperature outside was 26c. There was also no air conditioning in the dining room or other areas. Reception staff told me the air conditioning is not switched on until May which I think is a bit late. It should be switched on when the temperature is high.Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel and would recommend it.

NIce Place
My wife and I have just returned from the Marina Luz (16th to 20th April 2013) with 4 other couples, we were celebrating one of the groups 65th birthday.As mentioned in other reviews the Hotel is in a quiet position with superb views. My wife and I booked a sea view room (paying extra) with Alpharooms, we were allocated a room at the back of the Hotel, facing Palma. ( click on photos in main heading and look for pictures from contributor, JB-71-13 Mar 2013). The Hotel has accomodation spread over 5 floors, Floors 1 and 2 at the back have restricted views mainly because of the surrounding buildings, 3-4 &5 are ok.Best book a pool view, you still get a sea view and the Sun shines on the balconies until mid afternoon. If you want a Full Sea View room, or a Full Frontal as the receptionist called the rooms, be sure to acertain that, that is what you will get when booking.The Hotel offers upgrades to;- Pool View 6 euros pp per day, Full sea view 12 euros pp per day and a Junior Suite for 24 euros pp per day, payable there.The rooms are of a reasonable size have bathrooms with bath and shower over it. One down point, the Towels, these were as thin as paper and hard to the touch.The breakfast was good with plenty of choice and the Best Bacon I have ever had in a European 4 Star Hotel.It is near the Airport, but as mentioned in other reviews the noise is not obtrusive.Overall a Good Hotel for a short break.
