Nice view over beach and comfortable apartment for the price
The room we were in was on a corner the fourth floor and we had not realized that it is a small apartment, with a separate living room and a closet kitchen. We enjoyed a nice view on the beach and the amenities were clean and comfortable. Breakfast downstairs was pretty standard.My only relatively small gripes were the absence of WiFi (two old PCs are available to guests with 20th centry-style coin-operated Internet connection) and no utensils in the kitchen apart from two plates, forks and spoons (no knife!). Great for pizza lovers used to licking their fingers but useless for people who want to fry eggs and some sausages, or cook spaghetti or rice.Beware of nearby restaurants offering standard paella. We did not try the hotel's restaurant this time.

AVERAGE!
We know Roses well and have tryed most of the Hotels on the seafront, having had lovely meals at their restaurant several times we said why not try the Hotel. The room we had was large with a beautiful seaview but like a sauna inside, impossible to lower the heat so we slept with the window open all night. This was Febuary 6¿¿ outside. The room/bathroom we had definetly needs to be renovated. If you hesitate between certain Hotels in Roses,I think the "Marina" is for the moment better value for money and has the advantage of having private parking which is a must in summer.Once the "Mar y Sol" is completly renovated we will try again,as it has one of the best locations in Roses.

Best location in Roses
We last stayed here 3 years ago, and it hasn't changed. The main reason to select this hotel is its location in Roses itself - if that's where you want to be. Roses is a bustling town with a parking problem - mostly now parking ticket meters (to raise revenue). We went out of high season and it was still really hard to get parked anywhere remotely central. But the upside is being central and being able to walk everywhere when you get there - plenty good restaurants in the pedestrian old town area; and the beach just across the road.The hotel is a bit tired looking, needing a good spruce up in terms of decor and furnishings. It is on five floors with the room on the 5th having large terraces and well worth the extra cost. The aircon was an ancient wall unit (noisy) that struggled in the hot weather. The bathroom needed updating and the water pressure in the shower was low. There was WiFi but it did not reach the 5th floor!The restaurant was expensive for dinner but did do a cold breakfast (no cooked food) which was adequate. Would we stay here again? On balance no. A better option these days would be to stay in the St Margarita area along the beach where parking is not an issue and a walk of 10/15 mins gets you into the town centre. (Hotel Monteray looked the best of them).

Sea and Sun...no doubt!
Great location here in Roses. Ideal for the beach, Dali trip to Figueres, boat excursion to Cadaques and accessible to Dali's home in Port Lligat. A good value and some decent sized rooms. Some nice dining all within a walk.

Good Hotel
Stayed here in June 2011 very good value hotel adjacent to beach and town, rooms are in the process of being renovated some therefore very good others need a repaint, staff excellent manager very helpful very good if you want to be close to all facilites can be noisey at night.Restaurant is one of the more exspensive but service is good, rooms cleaned well on a daily basis lift can be quirky
