Fantastic accommodation
Fantastic accommodation - quiet room, spotlessly clean, spacious by European standards, comfortable bed, excellent shower and delicious breakfast (wow fresh orange juice and even cava) The hotel has a lovely ambiance particularly where they serve breakfast and drinks, and its proximity to the airport bus, the hop-on/off bus and the museum triangle is second to none. The staff were friendly and helpful - would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again. Only real downside is the expensive wi fi - why not allow 30mins per day then charge for usage over and above this?

Fabulous Find
I am an elderly experienced world traveler who does much research before a trip and who is quite picky but not overly so. Really a boutique hotel in a fantastic location steps from the parado, the tyssen museum, all shopping and restaurants, actually on the gran via, madrid's prime street, this historic building loaded with facad atmosphere is THE place to stay. no real lobby, which is an off put at first, the rooms are adequate, attractive, quiet, very comfortable, super clean, and luxurious enough. staff super friendly and very helpful. on bus routes and near metro. great breakfast buffet at rock bottom price (for spain - 7 euro) in susptuous rooftop location. in summer there are decks with fabulous views. good value for the money - not the ritz or the palace but wonderful. stay here.

Great city centre hotel
Stayed here in early Feb. Very comfortable, if a little warm in the room as heating was on due to cold temperatures but the sun was still strong. Bathroom was good with hydro shower (no bath). Our only gripes (apart from no aircon in winter) would be lack of tea/coffee facilities in room and expensive WiFi. Staff were all very helpful. Room had great view onto Gran Via. Good sound-proofing - we heard nothing from corridor or neighbouring rooms. We enjoyed cocktails and food in the bar one evening (will be great in summer when warm enough to sit out on terrace) but otherwise ate out as there are many cafes, tapas bars etc near by. Mercado de San Miguel is worth a visit. Convenient for Prado and Retiro Park but Royal Palace and Cable Car etc are easily walkable (or Metro is close by).

Good hotel in a good position
Stayed here recently. Rooms are good and worth the money spent. Staff are very helpful. Hotel is situated close to the metro, and the streets behind have good coffee shops with wifi, tapas bars and even a super market. Recommend.

Good location but very disappointed
Hotel is located near all the major attractions however the lack of lobby / waiting sitting area / limited business center / personnel to help you with the bags, makes it feel more like a HOSTEL rather than 4 star hotel ... we had reservations for 3 nights but cancelled the last one and only stayed 2 nights ... colleague stayed in a hotel across the street (Catalonia Gran Via) during the same time and paid significantly less for better accommodations ... will definitely NOT RETURNGood: - central location within walking distance to historic sites - friendly staff at the front desk, no issues canceling third night at the check in and was recommended nearby Starbucks for free internet since hotel charges 17 Euro per day - comfortable bed in the roomNeed to Improve: - no place to drop off passengers or bags, taxis just let you off in the busy street in front of the hotel (this is extremely inconvenient especially if you drive) - there was only one employee at the front desk in the afternoon so no one to help with the bags and since the lobby is tiny you stand with your bags on line after walking up the set of stairs from the street - closest parking recommended by the hotel is around 1/2 mile away in public underground garage - no relationship with the hotel - costs 31 Euro per day- breakfast starts at 07:30 on weekdays but warm food (eggs, sausages, bacon) was not served until 20 minutes later - at a time we were leave for a meeting ...- shower was leaking - floor is covered in water after a quick shower
