Good but not in the centre
Stayed here for 4 nights last week - overall very good and it only fails to get an excellent rating because it is a 25-30 minute bus ride from the centre - albeit the bus service (number 53) to the centre at Sol is cheap, frequent and reliable. Service was excellent - friendly staff who knew what they were doing. Reception happily provided more supplies for tea and coffee making and printed boarding cards at no additional costs. Free Wi-Fi also a plus. Food, particularly breakfast, also very good to excellent. We had a very clean and spacious room. I would happily stay here again despite the bus ride. Pool still closed as temperatures not particularly high, but it looked quite attractive and there is a good balcony by the bar for sitting out. As a tip - if you are over 65 and take a copy of your passport to prove it entrance to the Prado is half price at 7 Euros and many other museums offer reductions.

Essentially a business hotel but fine for tourists.
We were guests here on a Riviera Travel holiday and we would have no hesitation in returning here should we ever come to Madrid again.Despite being virtually next to the 14 lane M30 ring motorway, there was no problem with noise.The rooms were of an excellent standard and the same can be said of both breakfast and evening meal. Both were buffet style with plenty of choice. The wine list offered a good choice without be over the top expensive. There are a pair of Apple Mac's in reception with 20 minute access that can be renewed once only to prevent guests hogging them for long periods.The restaurant and reception staff were pleasant in the extreme and the place was spotlessly clean. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms but we were only left 2 mini milk pots so only 1 brew each. I did manage to get some additional milk from the restaurant staff who were very obliging.There's a supermarket just 5 minutes walk away that had all we needed but which didn't open on Sundays.The number 53 bus stops and picks up directly outside the hotel and drops off at the bus station in the city centre near the Plaza Major. It costs 1 Euro 50 as a flat fare wherever you get on and off. We spent 4 hours in the Prado without seeing everything. It's 14 Euros standard admission and would take all day to see everything including a break for lunch. There's an airport style security check on the way in with lockers for large bags etc. It's free after 17:00 but you would only see a fraction of the exhibits before it closed.

Good stay for soccer match in Madrid
We traveled to Madrid for soccer match on 13 Feb (Real Madrid vs Manchester United Champions League) and stayed 2 nights in this hotel. The front counter lady was very friendly enough to offer help to book cab for us. However, there was plenty of taxi in front of the hotel so we won't have any problem in getting one. It costed Euro 9 from the hotel to the stadium. There was coffee making facility in the room (which I found it very convenient). The cleanliness of the room and quality of breakfast was acceptable. I found the wall features at the lobby waiting area very interesting with Spanish culture. There is only one point which I don't really like...ie: the paper/plastic cup that provided in the room. I've stayed in other Novotel hotel in Europe but they do provide ceramic coffee cup or glass in the room. The paper/plastic cup make the stay a bit cheap scale. If they can improve this, i'll say overall it gonna be a quite satisfied & enjoyable stay in future.

Excellent value for money 4 star hotel in a convenient location
This is a hotel that gives value for your money. Stayed 4 wonderful nights in a clean, comfortable, quiet room. Efficient check in - staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, came with free WiFi (the security code given doesn't work fully after 24 hours - you have to get another security code every day of your stay, minor shortfall). Bathroom was clean, airy, bright and spacious as the room. The shower in the bathroom had a "large" shower head!!! (A luxury in a 4 star hotel). The hotel provided a discount breakfast at 10 Euros for that weekend - amazing spread on the menu - self service continental breakfast!!! Hotel is walking distance from the subway station, "Parque de las Avenidas". Close proximity to banks, ATMs, supermarkets etc.Very convenient. The room came with a minibar - when we told the staff that we didn't want the minibar stock, they emptied the fridge and we were able to stock with our own stuff. Only thing that we couldn't work out was that they provided paper cups for the tea/coffee making tray to be eco friendly. I thought a porcelain mug would be more eco friendly. the 4 days we stayed were just amazing. Recommend it for value for money.

Pleasant stay for a short business meeting in Madrid
Novotel Madrid Puente de la Paz is conveniently located with a short walk to my office in Madrid, hence the reason for staying there, as it is not very central but a short 15 minutes walk will take you to the metro and a short ride to central Madrid.Very friendly reception staff who speak fluent, Spanish, French and English and food in restaurant for evening meal is good. Standard business room with free wifi allow to keep in touch with work. Overall a pleasant experience.
