Pleasantly Surprised
Like other reviewers, our holiday company had relocated us to the THB Calas Lliteras as our original hotel had over booked! The reviews I read before hand didn¿¿¿t fill me with much hope, but we went with it.As the title of my review suggests, I was pleasantly surprised, the hotel was clean and tidy, the staff were helpful and accommodated most needs. The pool area is clean, you can always get a sunbed and there¿¿¿s a bar during the day to get drinks and snacks and sheltered areas to get away from the sun if needed. The pool temperature is quite cold and not refreshingly cold either. Cleaners made the room up each morning, d¿¿cor was suffice, no cobwebs or marks on the walls, the balcony was kept tidy and looked new.¿¿We had an AI booking, which naturally meant, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with local beers, wines and spirits included. Drinks throughout the day aswell as dry sandwiches and pots of fruit (from the pool bar), they do serve pizzas and crisps etc but at extra cost. The meals were OK, breakfast was the same every day, scrambled eggs, streaky bacon, strips of potato, tiny sausages (didn¿¿¿t look too nice), fried eggs which fold in half when you cut into them, fresh bread EVERY DAY! Hams, cheeses, yoghurts, fruits, cereals ¿¿¿ plenty to pick from. There was also a cooking station where you could have fresh omelettes or pancakes. My boyfriend kept referring to the dining room as a ¿¿¿canteen¿¿¿, it does have this feeling to it unfortunately, lunch and dinner were hit and miss, again ¿¿¿ fresh bread at both (NB: butter is only provided at breakfast) and the coffee machine is only available at breakfast also. The food is rather bland but plenty of choice and you wont go hungry. You can eat out if you wished, there are plenty of restaurants to chose from in the main town or even walking to the harbour which is stunning at night time!¿¿The beach is approx. 15min walk along the coast, the footpath is lit and nice to do in the evening. The ¿¿¿canteen¿¿¿ will provide you with a lunch box if you are AI and out for the day, not sure what you¿¿¿ll get though?! We ate at the beach, freshly made baguettes ¿¿¿ yummy!¿¿Overall we were both very impressed with what the hotel had to offer, I have a couple of gripes ¿¿¿ on a couple of occasion we were told the AI drinks were stopping early, as the staff were ¿¿¿tired and wanted to go home¿¿¿, we didn¿¿¿t have a fridge in our room so couldn¿¿¿t keep drinks cool. The TV, I¿¿¿m not one for watching the box whilst away but there were no English channels, it would¿¿¿ve been nice to have sky news on in the background at least whilst getting ready. The hotel put on entertainment some evenings¿¿¿.dreadful!! As this is a German resort, the entertainment is targeted towards them, its unimaginative and dull. We did meet some lovely people though and came away with happy memories. There is a long transfer time from Palma to the resort (2hrs) with other drop offs along the way.

Very nice clean hotel with superb views
We arrived at this hotel as the Travel Company we had booked through had overbooked our initial hotel, we were really worried after seeing the bad reviews which I think are unjustified. The rooms and other parts of the hotel were cleaned to a high standard and the cleaners were always working hard. We found all the staff to be really helpful and pleasant during our stay. Our room was pleasant with a newly refurbished bathroom and we had the luxury of a fridge in which to store water and drinks, not all rooms have a fridge. We were there on all inclusive. There is only one dining room in the hotel which serves breakfast / lunch / dinner, my husband always found something to his liking and there was always plenty of it, I on the other hand being vegetarian found a problem when I asked the restaurant manager about this he said that it would have to be either salad and chips as everything else has meat or fish in it. I hasten to add that I always find this problem when on holiday but just wish that foreign hotels would cater for all dietary needs. There was always sunbeds at the pool no matter what time of day. Please note that the hotel does not supply pool towels so bring your own. There is a bar at the pool that serves food not all of it is on all inclusive.Entertainment was good but not every night usually twice a week. The views from the hotel are stunning and are the best we have seen, there is a diving centre just outside the hotel with a restaurant / bar and has a lovely atmosphere if you want a break from the hotel. The centre of the resort was a few minutes walk to the shops and then onto a beautiful marina and harbour with plenty of eating and drinking places.

Avoid if u wish something local. This isn't a 4 stars
We arrived here at midnight and at the reception was only one guy that did a copy of the reservation and gave us the key of our room.On the day after in the afternoon (after we went back from our daytrip) we received a phone call from the reception to come urgently downstairs to make the payment for our stay (we were staying there 5nights and i didn't understand what was so urgent). I went downstairs and they asked me to pay the stay in the hotel while i think it was already paid from the website since i booked a not refundable stay. Btw at the same time i asked if they were affiliated with the Miles and More (showing my card) and the guy was thinking i was a pilot of Lufthansa group... No comment.Quality of the room:Well it was quite clean but the overall quality was extremely poor as you can see from the pictures i've attached to this review. The paint quality was crap and the tents has holes and kept together with the clips u use to dry your clothes. If there's a windy day your windows will vibrate quite strongly letting you impossible to sleep with or without earplugs.Quite unreasonable if you consider that's supposed to be a 4 stars hotel.Services:There were no services. There's no possibility to pay at the restaurant only saying the room number but you've to pay immediately and ONLY by CASH. Same thing happens to the pool bar where you are obviously supposed to go with your slippers and a towel you've always to bring the wallet with you.In the hotel the's only one small lift that's also extremely slow and crowded due to it's capacity.A couple of days of our checkout we asked if was possible to do a late checkout of 1 or 2 hours later because we had the flight late in the evening and the reply was that: "they weren't organized for that, on top we're in OVERBOOKING". I saw people with a booking in their hands leaving due to this reason. How's possible for a hotel of this category to be in overbooking?¿¿Food/restaurant:This was even worst of the previou points.- Breakfast: it was written on the description that there's international breakfast but there were only typical German things such as sausages, salami, eggs, etc. if you're searching a sweet breakfast such as croissants and/or some other sweeties you can dream about.- Dinner: normally when u travel you expect to have local food but since the hotel was populated of 95% of germans there were only german food. I saw only once a Tortilla and a Paella (that was extremely untasty) and for the rest there were only sausages, all kind of eggs types, bacon, boiled veggies, etc.- restaurant services: almost every day i had to stand up, after have waited for 15 min to get served) and search for a waiter in order to order a bottle of water and/or wine. And again you've to pay it straight away on the way out and only with cash.PROS: we got a room with the view on the bay area (see attached pictures) but if you're looking on the other side there's nothing. The hotel isn't a 4 stars at all for all the reasons i've explained above, no service for the client and the quality of the rooms are more likely to be a 2 stars.

Ressembles a youth hostel but with worst food
Positive aspects:- The hotel is located in a quiet corner with nice views. - We asked to have food in our room since we were arriving quite late and the staff attended to our request.- The staff also attended our request of changing rooms in the first night.- The beach "Cala Agulla" is beautiful though a little crowded.Negative (Terrible) aspects:- The hotel is frequented by groups of teenager German guys. One of those groups were in the room right next to ours in the first night. They were hitting the walls on purpose and screaming just to harass us up to 2 a.m. when we called the reception. We asked to change rooms afterwards.- The food is tasteless and the staff behaves like not caring at all about quality. They served rotted milk twice at breakfast. After some other guests complained they just took the milk away as if it was a normal situation. When the meal time was over, the staff came and picked up the leftovers with their own hands to put it in trays... - We had already decided to eat somewhere else in the other days but in the last evening we returned to the dinner in the hotel... Almost all meals were made of minced meat. So, in order not to eat leftovers, we tried the vegetable lasagne... but it had meat (!?). - In our last night, after changing rooms, more groups of guys came to the rooms next to ours. It was impossible to sleep and we had to call reception at 5 a.m. - The cleanliness was not the best. The towels and the pillows smelled like humidity. Additionally, we never got shower gel replacement. For the kind of vacations we were looking for, namely somewhere to rest and to serve as base to explore the island, I would not recommend the hotel. For the two basic things we wanted, sleep and eat at least breakfast, their offer was terrible.

Average hotel with a wonderful location
We were in Cala Lliteras in October. The room had an excellent seaview, but perhaps we were just simple lucky. Air Con was working perfect, our room was always clean, food was ok, we were on half board. I think it's not worth for going on all inclusive. We were satisfied with the hotel except one thing, the main restaurant worker never greeted us when we entered the restaurant, maybe cause we are not germans and he did not get any tips from us. He was very rude, impolite, even he did not look into our eyes, it's unacceptable from someone who is standing in the entrance of the restaurant!! Maybe our expectations were too high after Magic Life, but i think if the hotel advertise itself as a 4 stars hotel it's a minimum!
