We stayed here at the end of a Cruise and found it excellent base to explore the great city of Barcelona. The location is great 5 mins from the beach close to the metro and also just a few mins away from the open top tour bus stop . The rooms are modern and spacious with a good quality Porcelanosa bathroom Free fast wifi and good air con. The breakfast was also very good . Reception staff were very helpful giving local information booking onward travel with out any problems. I would stay here again without hesitation

After having stayed at a 4 star hotel in Lisbon, Portugal, where the service was expemplory, we were extremely disappointed with the lack of service at this hotel. The hotel is two blocks from the Llacuna Metro station in a quiet area outside the main central city (approx. 20-25 minute metro ride) in an area two blocks from the Poble Nou (an reported upcoming area in Barcelona that used to be factories, etc). The area was quiet and had a suburb feel with the Pable Nous Ramblas nearby, which had eateries and stores. If you are arriving from the airport after midnight, it is not easy to get to the hotel. Fortunately, we made the final midnight Aerobus (train was already closed) and took it into the center of city to the Placa de Catalunya. From there we had to take night bus, the N6, which dropped us off almost in front of the hotel. Was difficult understanding the bus system and we should have done more homework but didn't.The hotel staff (especially the men for some reason) were not very friendly. We had problems every night with our card key not working. We would go to the front desk and tell them and they never once apologized for the problem. We would not have had a problem if they would have had even a bit of understanding.The hotel offered very little amenities without cost (charged to use the steam room, the gym). N mini bar in the rooms (they had upgraded rooms where you could get this). No irons, no wash cloths. No ability to change the air conditioner temperature on the room and when we asked that said they would fix it yet I was never able to make it work.The included morning breakfast was decent, although very crowded with unfriendly workers and seaters who scolded us for having 3 people sitting at a 4 top. The hotel was clean and decent and that is why I gave this 3 stars. If it were just based on service, it would have been 1-2 stars at most.

I stayed here overnight in May 2013 and would be happy to stay again.The good points:Modern new build with car park in basement, bar and restaurant and free WIFI5 minutes walk to sea front with beaches, bars and restaurantsThere is a bus stop 2 minutes walk away from where you can catch the "Bus Turistic" which is a hop on, hop off bus which will take you round the main tourist sitesThe staff speak English and will recommend local eating places, there is a large selection of tourist leaflets available in receptionRooms are good standard, flat screen TV, quiet and comfortable beds, not many Englsh channels and no pay movies

Not sure where to start but will try to structure this sensibly as I write this on our last night hereWho we are - well travelled mid 30s couples particular about safety foremost and cleanliness of the hotel. Then comes location and amenities. We spend most of the day out but want a nice room and bed in a safe area to return late and enjoy the night.....not sure what this place did not provide us with...Arriving here - while we were tired and took a taxi ride here it's very easy to walk if you have one medium suitcase to pull. Else best getting a taxi. We paid 36 euros total from T2. Take the normal taxi without hesitation, they don't cheat and its a straight ride here. I'd advice taking a printout of the address or Google map to help the driver as its quite new but most drivers know itIf you take the train - the Renfe goes from T1, free shuttle if you land at T2 like us. The train goes to Pasiege Dr Gracia from where you take the L4 yellow line in the direction of La Pau and get off at Llacuna. The metro here is easy compared to London, see where you want to go and see what's the last stop on that line and that's it. When you get out of the metro at Llacuna, take a 180 degree turn to see the road junction just few feet in front of few. If you look left you can see the building itself with Hotel 4 written. So just walk along the road for 5 to 7 minutes and you are there , sea easy. The Hotel itself - we took a standard room and got it on floor 6 of 7. Since the double room was 2 singles joined we took another one on 2nd floor. Many say it's worth upgrading to deluxe for 20 euros extra per night but do it only if you spend most of your time in the room. For that extra you only get tea coffee and bathrooms in the room. Might as well pay 7 euros for 2 cups and get your own wardrobe coz everything else is the same. They have a small gym, an okay room service menu not highly priced and a sauna which we dint see. The breakfast as very decent with eggs, bacon bits, chorizo and lot of choice of breads, coffee, tea etc. My advice would be to book a room with breakfast. Else you pay 15 euros for it when here. If you confirm you want it at check-in then it's 9 eurosLocality - this is a residential area completely safe with people walking their dogs, having a smoke and dead quiet. Take it from us because we came back close to or after midnight for the 3 nights here and we never felt worried once. You will see a lot of older buildings and graffiti but that's just Barcelona. What's around then - there is a lovely store located at the side here you get everything and we used it a lot. To go to the beach just go to the end of the road on the side of the hotel and follow the road on the RIGHT, if you walk left at the eh you go around the entire wall. So a you go right and follow the road till the end you will see a 24 hour Mac Donalds, walk through it and at the best area of the beach. We ate 3 times at Mango who have amazing Tapas for the price. They charge 5 euros for a strong cocktail and for 4/5 euros they pour a much Jack Daniels or Glenfiddich as you want, they really don't know how much we pay for nothin in the UK. There is a nice lounge music shack on the beach in front but is double the price. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We are meticulous planners but this time we just dint and luckily it wasn't a problem. In 10 mins from Llacuna you are in th heart of the city to enjoy everything and then return to sit on the beach and dine at Mango. If you miss home you even have 24 hour Mac Donalds right there. All this just a 5 min walk either side of the hotel. To close off, they have the best shower we enjoyed in years. More than big enough for 2 people and amazing pressure. That and the cosy beds with the location make this a hands down winner. Few reviewers said this can't pass for 4 star but they don't charge anywhere near 4 star if you plan and book online so price wise they are worth it every single dayEn

Stayed there for 4 nights. Nice clean hotel and only a 5 minute walk to the beach and 5 minutes from Llacuna metro. Hotel has a small gym (1 treadmill) but I used the gym 3 times and was always the only person in there. They also have a steam room and sauna. If your like me and like to run, you should bring your running gear and make sure you join in with the locals running along the beach front up to the W hotel. Another must do, is to go to one of the many beach bars. Bambu beach bar down towards to Diagional Mar Shopping Centre serves great cocktails (Mango Daiquiri) and try their Potatas Y salsa bravas con alioli. Overall, the hotel is convenient, clean and good value for money. We did not eat here though, so cannot comment on quality of food.
