Located just off the Cross Island Pkwy, and minutes from both the Belt Pkwy and Grand Central Pkwy, this hotel was very convenient if staying/visiting the eastern Queens or central LI area. I only stayed one night for around $100, which is very modest for the NYC/LI area. The room was on the small side, but well appointed and modern. Not a lot of parking at all and not a lot of stuff around the hotel. This is the type of place you stay when in town for business and/or plan to do most stuff out of the hotel. Free breakfast in the morning, easy check out, and friendly staff made it worth it.

No, it isn't a five-star deluxe palace. But it is more than adequate and in my experience, exceeded my modest expectations. I always mention in my reviews that I am an airline pilot by profession, not because I'm trying to throw a title around, just to hopefully add a bit of credibility - I stay in many, many hotels and have, I think, a greater than average exposure to the hotel environment. My employer generally has us in hotels in the Sheraton/Marriott/Radisson range, but in this instance I was on extended personal travel and cost was an issue. I received an excellent rate for my one week stay by booking ahead, with the proviso that the charges were non-refundable. New York hotels are notoriously expensive so the price break was welcome.Location. The hotel was excellent for my purposes, within easy driving distance of my business, and within a 5-7 minute walk to the Long Island Railroad station which takes you directly into Manhattan's Penn Station. Parking is free, and although the lot is very small, I was never unable to get a spot. Seems secure enough, with video surveillance in place.The room. I checked in late, after the rooms had been assigned, and so received a room at the front of the hotel. As is mentioned elsewhere, it is a little noisy but by no means intolerable. I requested a room at the back of the hotel for the duration of my stay and was given one from the second night onwards, with no hassle at all. More than reasonable given my arrival time on the first night. There was no appreciable noise in the back of the hotel. (Second floor.)The rooms are small, yes. But still larger than the other, larger chain that my employer has us in, in Manhattan! It's New York and space is at a premium. For one or two people, I thought it perfectly reasonable. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. No complaints. Housekeeping was very good, only cleaning my room when asked, and replenishing towels when requested. The internet is free, and pretty fast. No problem Skyping with family overseas. The free breakfast, again considering the category of hotel, was actually quite good. Hot food consists of (processed) eggs and sausage, and waffles. Cold food is fruit, yoghourt, boiled eggs, toast, pastries, bagels and doughnuts. Apple and orange juice and coffee. Can't really ask for much more, considering. For an extended stay like mine, you would probably want to change it up and not eat there every morning. But it's a nice perk.The staff was friendly, and graciously accepted delivery of a package on my behalf. Not much to say except no issues.There are plenty of conveniences in walking distance, pharmacy, fast food restaurants, etc. I short, I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely recommend the hotel based on my experience, as long as you are reasonable in your expectations.

We had a room with 2 beds. You could hardly move in the room because everything was so tight. Hotel had apparently crammed 2 beds into a 1 bed room. Decor was mediocre. Called to complain about the [expensive] stay after departure, and was told we'd be called back. That never happened.

My company put a group of us up there in Nov/Dec 2012 as part of the Hurricane Sandy restoration effort. The rooms are small with a decent size bathroom. The walls are paper thin and you hear EVERYTHING around you. I am not a light sleeper by an means, if I was it would have sucked.The fitness room is a joke, but there is a YMCA a mile away. I normally enjoy the limited continental breakfast at Comfort Inns, but this was bad. The coffee was awful and the egg patties with cheese were horrid and still cold. Luckily for us the waffle maker was working and there was cereal & milk.The only saving grace of this place is it was clean and there was plenty of attractions in walking distance.

Due to Hurricane Sandy knocking out power at my house, and then Nor'Easter Athena coming through, we were lucky to get a night at this hotel. We followed other reviewers advice and asked (1) not to be in the basement, (2) for a corner room, and (3) get a room in the back of the hotel. We got 1 & 2 and were very content. The room is fine for 2 people; we tried squeezing my kids too with me & my wife. It worked out well as we angled sleeping bags. Flat screen TV, good shower, clean space, comfy bed. Nice furnishings too. The continental breakfast in the AM was fine. Waffles were good, sausage was good. They had decent options. Just a small space. Only 9 chairs. Some people had to wait for others to finish eating before they could sit. The gym is so small - 3 machines (bike, eliptical, & treadmill) & no weights. In a pinch, or a quick overnight stay, this is a very good option.
