The hotel was nice, but being outside from 6-645 am was not! Hotel fire alarm went off and everyone had to sit outside for a long time. Paid ¿¿139 and thought there should've been a reduction. The staff handled it well in the morning though,obviously it wasn't their fault!

Stayed here with work recently and much as I hoped it would be a lovely boutique hotel, it isn't. It's fine if you just want a base for exploring Nottingham as location wise it's great but rooms are small and incredibly hot as towel rail in bathroom can't be turned off. The air conditioning unit did very little and they did provide a fan in the room but was still too hot for me. Breakfast was good and service was fine but felt a little dated and as I said before - average

The reason for our stay was to attend a family wedding and the hotel was on the Bride & Grooms website as a place to stay.As we were taking my 90 year old mother was needed two rooms, both close by in the hotel, (double and single). Having made the reservation on the Hotel's website I entered the promotional code to complete the on-line reservation and then telephoned to check everything had gone through and to discuss our requirements. The receptionist could not have been more helpful - identifying and reserving rooms in close proximity. (There is a lift within the hotel which whilst clearly modern had all the historic oak panelling which is in keeping with age of the building). We were also informed of the parking arrangements, while the hotel does not have its own car park, there is an NCP car park very close by and a discount is available for "residents" of the hotel.The hotel is situated on a one way system, however the road is not busy so we were able to pull up right outside the hotel to drop off bags without causing inconvenience to other road users.Check in strictly speaking is 2pm - we arrived 12.15 but were able to access our double room as it was ready - so helpful after a long journey and also to freshen up before going off to the wedding.Breakfast offered a wide selection from continental, or a variety of cooked items for a small uplift. Coffee (important to me in the morning) was fresh and not too strong (or weak)....Staff again were very helpful but not intrusive and daily papers were available if wanted.Checkout was efficient - credit card details were taken on reservation and the charge was processed upon departure.The room was roomy, clean with tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a small fridge available containing water, milk etc and handy if there were any small personal items requiring a fridge. An iron / board was available in the room along with a hairdryer!Bed was really comfy, - soft mattress topper, pillows and duvet were really lovely to snuggle into.Location was excellent with Nottingham city centre just a five minute walk away! This room had everthing it needed for a one night stay but was expecting more of this hotel and disappointed for the price. Good central location and a fair breakfast. Bathrooms quite tired and in need of updating

Stayed here sometime ago and enjoyed therefore when reason to visit nottingham we had no hesitation to book again...wrong. On arrival the receptionist said that we had been upgraded .. We wish they had not bothered. Room whilst large was looking tired. The heat was unbearable and this was not a warm day. We were on the front and windows old and difficult. to open to let air in. If there on Saturday night make sure you are not at the front as the noise is horrendous. So with the heat and noise until the early hours it was impossible to sleep. I even put the tv back on and that did not drown out the music and people below. Finally when leaving and complaining I was asked for email address so that the manager could contact me... I am still waiting!
