Excellent hotel
First time in France, and i love this place!The hotel is very well situated not far to the beach 5 minutes by walk, all the facilites is around the hotel (restaurant, shops...) and the price is correct.We are very lucky cause as it s our first trip in France We were upgraded in a very nice room. The personnal are very welcomingWith guess. During our journey, we assisted to many live party with a great Singer.The bar is magnificiant and very cosy. The design is like in the 50's, we feel Like in a old american's film. The waiter at the bar is a really gentleman.We really enjoy our vacation. So, we recommand to you guys. Thanks again for the ugrading

Never again.
Rooms very small, no opening window. Comfy bed, clean linen, bathroom clean. Sliding 'wardrobe' doors would not slide and one kept falling off - friends 'wardrobe' had no doors at all!The bar prices were a joke,9 Euros for a pint of lager, never anyone on the bar to serve drinks anyway, had to go ask on 2 occasions if anyone could serve us. Will never go again..Quite a decent continental breakfast though.Should not be rated 4 star, 2 would be more like it.

Nice hotel, great staff.
This is a great little hotel in the middle of Nice. Very convenient location. The rooms are great, beds are good compared to most beds I have experienced in Europe, and the staff was great. Everybody was very helpful and accommodating. We found a good rate for a four star hotel and booked it, very glad we did. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Good Stay in Nice
We stayed at the Hotel Ellington on a tour. The hotel is nice and clean, the location is within walking distance of most sites and the beach, but the air conditioning was not turned on and we were told to open our windows at night, which was a bit noisy. Reception did provide a fan, probably the only one, and that helped. If you plan to come here during the warmer months, check that the air conditioning is actually turned on in advance. Breakfast was very good. Please note that if you have allergies, the sheets and pillow cases might present an issue because the hotel uses scented detergent. The towels do not have this problem for some reason. We had to place the towels over the sheets and pillow cases to avoid the scent.

Friendly staff, clean, neat hotel, but too much street noise on the north side of the hotel
The hotel is very clean and neat. The staff was very friendly, but we did not sleep well because we had a room on the north side of the hotel and it looked out onto a very noisy street. The street noise was quite loud in the room both during the day and all night long. The rooms on the south side might be quieter, but since we were there for only a couple days and this was our only time we stayed here, we cannot confirm that those rooms are quiet. One tip. The internet is free in the lounge, but you need to get a paper with a login and password from the desk. This is good for one hour and for one computer. So if you have two computers, for example if you and your wife each have a computer, you will need to pick up two papers with the logins and passwords. There is internet in the rooms, but there is a charge for that and we did not pay that charge.
