WORST HOTEL EVER! BEWARE
This hotel has the most awful conditions and staff I have seen in my 20 years of travelling! DO NOT STAY HERE. The manager was so rude I actually reported the establishment. We had no heat, no hot water, a room with cots that were supposed to be beds and were refused a refund. The manager is completely incompetent!

Poor location and not welcoming
My wife and I stayed at the Villa Bellagio on the first night of our adventure in and around Montpellier. It is at least a 15 - 20 minute walk to the nearest tram! Our welcome was not particularly warm and friendly and first impressions do count for a lot! The reception area was clean and presentable but after leaving the lift to get to our room the floor was dirty and there was a fusty smell in the corridor. Our room had air conditioning and was quite spacious but certainly not as described in booking.com or late rooms.com. I would recommend a hotel much closer to the centre of town.

Ok for a stopover from/to the south
Simple hotel, room with a seventies look but rather clean and very spacious. You cannot ask more for this money. Breakfast surprisingly OK as well.By car 10' to the city center and I believe there is a huge busstation just 500m from the hotel. Looks like it not a good idea to let your car in the street in this neighbourhood, but there is limited free parking in a supervised area if you arrive in time, otherwise : 5¿¿¿.Wouldn't spend here more than 1 or 2 nights, but for this purpose it can be recommended

A Nice Hotel, just a bit far from the center
The Villa Bellagio Hotel, located nort of the city center, is a nice place to stay. Just before the reception, you're greeted with a small but comfortable garden. If by chance you have nothing to do, that's where you'll want to go to relax. The hotel reception isn¿¿¿t very spacious, but serve¿¿¿s its purpose. The interior of the hotel isn't anything special ¿¿¿ especially the second and third level corridors. However, the rooms are a bit more comfortable and welcoming. They are sufficiently big and have enough room to walk around and spend some time. They are well lit; they have automatic blinds; television and wi-fi. The bathroom also has your basic needs.Despite these positive factors, the hotel is a bit far from the center of the city where all the real fun happens. There is a store and a restaurant about 5 min by foot, but you will have to walk about another 10 min to the metro station so you can make your way to the city. However, considering the comfort and the price/quality, it¿¿¿s a good choice to stay.

Good if you have a car
Located just off the D986 near the "Round-point de la Lyre" (which was a pain in the backside the first few attempts to exit correctly), it's ideal if you have a car. There's also a Casino supermarket, cheap laundrette and petrol station 200 metres or so down the road. However I recommend you travel up a little to "Rue de la Fontaine Froide" where you will find "Blue Elephant" petrol/gas station which was 1.486Euros/ltr of 95 octane at the time of writing - the cheapest I've seen so far in south of France. There is also a bigger supermarket near there. The hotel itself was nice. The reception's decor gave the receptionists an artificial makeover however as they were helpful but not exactly welcoming. However, after paying the 1Euro/night/person local tax, one day's breakfast buffet for two and 25 Euros for the private car park (which was 5Euros a night or 25E for the week), we were checked in. I have to note though the receptionist wasn't receptive to the fact we asked for a spare room keycard and gingerly gave us one when she asked her supervisor. There are three car parks - temporary outside reception, -1 and -2. We were allocated -2 which can be a tight squeeze. The entrance was a sharp full wheel lock to the right as we entered and whilst the spaces were relatively large, the corridor seemed narrow even in our rented Clio - one wonders how two cars manage side by side. There are lifts in the basement which goes to each level of the hotel and we were allocated room 117 on the first floor facing outwards from the reception looking towards the temp car park. The rooms itself were of good size, as expected of a 3-star hotel. I usually check how clean they are kept and a once over reminded me of staying at a friend's house which they hurriedly cleaned up. The worst I found was the body hairs (and pubes) behind the bathroom door - even tonight, on our 5th night, it still is there. The lock on the door also doesn't work properly in that the "privacy lock" doesn't actually lock! I tried for 20-30mins to make it work and it was only because my partner said don't make a fuss that I didn't complain. I wondered throughout the stay whether the cleaners would come in whilst we were sleeping or dressing however they did politely (and quietly) knock several times before entering. However, the room was clean other than the discrepancy. There was a large wardrobe for both of our clothes and I liked how there was a computer desk on wheels which rotated around a pivot on the other table. The window I felt was fantastic - it opened fully sideways and the automated blinds kept all light out if fully down, or trickled it through tiny holes if not. The breeze from the window was welcoming and even though at night time when we had the lights on, there weren't any flies coming into the room. The bed was a little hard but still comfy. There was also two good "dining" chairs and lots of light around the room. The fridge was useful and even froze our watermelon! Although we did put it on full power (5). The only gripe about the fridge was the freezer door opened in a strange way and had to be forced to be opened. There was a kitchenette above the fridge but this was locked and I can only assume it would be rented out to Studio accommodation or if you paid for it.The bathroom was equipped well: Bath with shower, flimsy halfway glass panel (which I always hate), a good hair-dryer, basin with jet water and amenities inc. soap, shower gel/shampoo, large & small towels as well as plastic cups. The shower had a good jet power spray. In the room is a small LG LCD which has HDMI as well as VGA support so if you have kids or want to watch movies from your laptop, then remember to bring along a HDMI (don't pay more than 5Euros for a HDMI cable!).The view was average. It overlooked the "garden" and lounge outside as well as faced North-West therefore giving an almost view of the sunset. Night-time the traffic can be heard in the distance from the main roads but nothi
