Not the best Sheraton
I've had the opportunity to stay at multiple Sheraton locations, this one was a little under the bar for the chain name.Good things: Great location, it was a 15 minute walk to American Falls side.. and Maid of the Mist. The room was nicely sized and the bed, as with every other Sheraton, was amazing! The staff was very friendly and it was nice to have a Starbucks and TGIFridays on location. Not so great things: We were scheduled to check in at 4:00, we arrived close to 5:00 and our room wasn't ready for about 30 minutes after we arrived. The bathroom had some rough spots in it (old screw holes in the walls that weren't fixed.) Overall it wasn't a bad stay, just not the greatest quality. We had stayed via a deal that was going on so we got a good price for the room, but had we needed to pay full price, we would have been sorely disappointed.

Not a great place with a Sheraton name
Hotel was average - nothing spectacular - stayed for 2 nights to attend a conference, so did not eat there - only thing nice about the room was the bed and the flat screen tv - room was very dark and dreary, nothing on the walls (which were a dark brown color) - front desk staff not too friendly - had to wait several hours for my room to check in - waiting at the bar at TGI Fridays (located in the lobby) for a call when my room would be ready - never got a call so around 4:30 decided to go check at the front desk - room was then ready but never got a callThe room was very hot, air conditioning did not work properly and was extremely loud. Never got a good nights sleep even though the bed was very comfortable. Nothing much to do around the area.

Feces in toilet & property stolen!!
I stayed at The Sheraton at the Falls overnight on 5/4/2013. I was told that my room would be available for check in between 2 & 3 p.m. I got there almost right at 3 and was asked to wait 10 minutes while they finished cleaning my room. My sister (who was staying with me) and I walked around for over a half hour and then decided to check in. My mother had already provided her credit card information to the hotel staff as she was paying for the room (and also staying with us). They still asked for a credit card and ID from one of us (me or my sister). I was reluctant but gave it to the man as he told me he couldn't give me keys until I gave it to him. I mentioned the room was already taken care of by my mom and he assured me this was a formality - just in case of any damage. "I am a 31 year old woman," I told him, "there will be no damage." My sister and I got to our room and she had to use the bathroom. I suddenly heard a gasp of horror and, "OH MY GOD!!" I asked Kellie what was the matter.... There was poop in our toilet!!!!! My mother came in the room a couple minutes later and was brought up to speed on the situation. She proceeded to do an inspection of the bathroom and discovered that it clearly wasn't cleaned: there were splash marks and toothpaste in the sink & on the faucet, there was dust behind the tissue dispensor on the sink, and there was water and hair in the tub!! It was obvious that they had only replaced the towels and maybe swept the floor. Thankfully, the rest of the room was clean. After calling the front desk, we were offered another room but we knew the hotel was booked and we didn't want to have to wait longer to settle in. We were told that the cleaning staff would be up there immediately to clean the bathroom. 45 minutes later, the head of housekeeping came up and spoke with my mom. The woman threw the front desk staff under the bus by stating, "Well, I hadn't inspected this room yet. You shouldn't have been given the keys." About 10 minutes later, 3 people finally came and cleaned the bathroom. Final wait time to a poop-free toilet and clean bathroom - about an hour!!!!Now, I'm home and decided to check my bank account because I had a bad feeling. There is a debit for $152.60 on my checking account - the card I provided during check in. The rooms don't even cost that much and absolutely no damage to the room occurred during my stay!! After calling and speaking with someone, I was told that is a hold that is put on the card provided "just in case." I was NOT told this when I checked in. My mom checked her account, the one that the room was paid for with, and no money was debited. And finally, my stay was for an overnight girls night with my mom and sister. We were going to do face masks, foot scrubs... girlie stuff. My mom was sure she packed a $65 face mask that she bought a couple months ago. When she couldn't find it in her bag she figured that she simply forgot it at home. When she got home, she checked the cabinet where the mask would be and it was gone. We now realize, it was stolen. (She had stayed in another room for a couple days prior to my visit.)If you plan on going to the American side of Niagara Falls and want a reasonable and clean hotel, stay at the Hampton Inn. I've stayed there twice in the past 2 years. It's very close to the casino (literally, just to the right of it and across a parking lot). It was nice and clean, the staff was fantastic, and the complimentary breakfast was wonderful.

Nice staff, mediocre housekeeping
The desk, concierge, parking, and other staff were friendly, helpful, and terrific. Once in my room, however, I found a used rain poncho in the closet (found on checkin), used ziplock bag between the bed and nightstand (found the first night), and a used plastic spoon under the divan (noticed the next morning). Sheets & towels were clean, but it seemed as if floors and counters had been very hastily done (carpet not vacuumed in the corners, bathroom counter not fully cleaned). I also had an issue with the shower - it seems that the water pressure is tied to the temperature. Therefore, the shower is scalding hot but a great pressure, or a comfortable temperature but weak. I did love the lighted make-up mirror in the bathroom. Location was also terrific!
