Excellent experience!
Stayed here the last week in April 2013. I chose this hotel based on it rating fairly high in the tripadvisor reviews but not being exorbitantly overpriced. As has been mentioned it's the end two houses of a row of townhouses that have been joined together so it's not a big hotel but it's modern in its fitout. My room was quite small (width was single bed+door+wardrobe, length was bed+1.5m desk). However for one person it was adequate. Bathroom / wet area was included and was modern and up to date. One hassle with sleeping away is always the pillow as everyone wants something different. A nice touch at the Windermere was that they supplied two pillows of differing thicknesses so you could choose the thin, the thick or both. I was able to find a combination that was close enough to what I was used to to sleep quite comfortably. Warwick Way is a quiet street; I was on the second floor facing the road and the traffic noise was not intrusive. On the other side of the hotel I imagine it would be quieter still but I was fine with it.Staff were friendly and helpful. Restaurant on lower ground floor was excellent; breakfast particularly had a great continental plus full english and a couple of variations of same. Service was excellent in both mornings and evenings.Located about 10 minutes from Victoria rail and underground station, and about 5 minutes from Victoria coach station. ~8 minutes from the Thames. A couple of bays of 'Boris Bikes' (Barclays Bank bike hire) are nearby so you can grab a bike for 2 quid and have it for a day so long as you return it to another bay within 30 minutes (if not you just pay a bit extra, good way to get around and see stuff at the same time). A few restaurants nearby; McDonalds in Victoria station arcade, Swi Suwoon Thai restaurant on Hugh St opposite the Greyhound Pub and apparently others not too far away.Would not hesitate to stay here again!

Great staff
The Windermere is typical of many other hotels in the area of Pimlico. It was two Victorian row houses knocked int one unit. The rooms are very small but very clean and modernized. Our small bathroom was all granite, marble and thick glass with expensive looking fixtures. The elavator is new and works well but is very small. Our top floor room was quiet and comfortable with a window that gave a view down the street.We stayed for a cold, windy, showery first week in April 2013. It snowed on one day!The included breakfast was very good with just about everything you could want. Dinner at the Windermere was cooked to our order, the Chef said he would do whatever we wanted as they were not busy. We mostly ate dinners at the George Pub about five+ minutes brisk walk away.Best thing about this very good hotel was the location. Victoria Station was 10 or 15 minutes away. A bit more of a hike got me to Buckingham Palace and on to Trafalgar Square. If you are not walkers taxis are easily available and generaly good for short rides. As cheap as the bus if you are not going far and have a group ( up to 5 people for the one price ) Taxi drivers are mostly knowledgeable, honest and helpful. Everything is expensive in London so the high price was in line with others in the area.The staff at the Windermere was very helpful and patient. They provided advice, maps and information and helped make it a great time despite the weather.

The safest bet in London!
Having stayed at The Windermere Hotel twice in the past nine months and having received excellent service in every respect, this hotel was my undoubted choice for this London visit (9-13/4/2013) too. I did not live to regret it: yet again The Windermere has upheld and enhanced its excellent reputation! The room (No 24) was perfectly adequate for a single person, was very clean and comprehensively equipped. Moreover, everything in it was fully functional and, as in previous visits, the decoration was in top notch condition; such characteristics betray the presence of professional management which imbues the customer with a feeling of security, confidence and trust in the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and all the hotel staff were courteous and ready to give an effective helping hand whenever needed. Furthermore, the hotel owners Mr. and Mrs. Hambi together with their young daughter Emily were on the scene on a daily basis, keeping the customers under their personal care. There is a lift to all floors and free Wi-Fi Internet connection everywhere, making life even more comfortable. This time the strategic location of the hotel (only an 8-minute walk from the Victoria Coach Station and a ten minute walk from the Victoria Train/ Tube Station) was especially appreciated as I was on a business trip necessitating the daily commuting to various parts of London. All-in-all, The Windermere is a safe haven in the heart of London; it is my home away from home.

Fantastic Hotel with very friendly staff
My mum and I have just got back from a great weekend in London, we stayed for 2 nights at The Windermere Hotel in a ground floor superior twin bedroom, the room was lovely, very clean, the bathroom was plenty big enough with lovely towels and toiletries were supplied, shampoo, body wash, body lotion etc. We had a meal in the hotel bistro one evening and this was lovely, lots of choice on the menu and very reasonably priced too. The breakfast at the hotel was very good, continental style that you helped yourself to,cereal, yoghurt, fruit, muffins, croissants etc and then you could also order a cooked breakfast with many choices, which was cooked fresh. The hotel is conveniently situated about 5 minute walk from Victoria Coach Station and about 10 minutes from Victoria Coach Station. Taxis passed right outside the front door so was easy to get around. The main thing about this hotel is the staff, they are very friendly and helpful. I am in a wheelchair and nothing was too much trouble for them, they were fantastic. I would highly recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation about booking to stay here again ...... hopefully next year if we can.

Lovely hotel!
My husband and I stayed a night in London and we stayed at this lovely hotel. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The free breakfast was delicious and the bed was sooo comfortable. We honestly did not want to leave this hotel. The location was very convenient as well. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely stay here again in the future.
