Good location, clean and friendly place to stay
We had a double room with shared shower and toilet which was clean at all times during our stay. The room and bed linen were clean, the beds were new and comfortable, and most important the price was unbeatable after we compared with nearby same category hotels. The price included also breakfast which was good. The staff were friendly and very helpful with directions. The location is excellent, everything within walking distance, hyde park, oxford street, paddington station - it is great. We will come back for sure.

Cheap in all understandings
After visiting a lot of this type of London hotels I must say that this is one of three properties I will not return to. The prepayed price for three nights were great, the staff were also very nice and tried to help us quickly in most cases, And we needed that!Firstly, bathroom. Ok it¿¿s small, no problem. We couldn¿¿t flush the toilet properly. It just didn¿¿t work. It leaked from the backside, which we told the staff in the morning, and it was ok when we came back in the afternoon.But we rarely after having tried a lot of times could get rid of the things in the loo...You¿¿ve heard of cheap hotels showers not having enough hot water? I didn¿¿t think it was like that anymore, but here¿¿s an example. Actually, the water in the hot water tap sometimes disapperared totally. Although the third morning there wasn¿¿t any problem at all, so it comes and goes. I don¿¿t mind if the room is ugly and not nice decorated, but I mind the mould in the wardrobe. The door to our room was skew, so it had half an inch opening at the bottom. But we had a lovely wiev over the green Norfolk Square, the TV worked, we did bring our own towels, and we got seats for breakfast nearly immediately every morning. Also, the location is very good, as the staff and the bed linen was clean. No problem to leave your luggage for a few hours after check out.

Basic, clean and affordable accommodation
Like some of the other reviewers we booked at the continental hotel without expecting luxuries. Our room was clean, good size, overlooking the greenery - it was a triple room with private shower and toilet which were basic but clean and good enough for someone on a tight budget like us. We went to take breakfast around 7.45 am, there were other people also there, the breakfast was continental (toast, butter, jam/marmalade, cornflakes, tea/coffee) we could have as much as we wanted - it was quite filling. It was a good experience and would certainly book again.

Basic but clean and good value for money
We booked at the continental hotel after a friend who stays there on regular basis recommended it to us as clean, safe and good value. We had a triple room en-suite for 2 nights, the beds were comfortable, the linen clean, new pillows, the room and bathroom also clean. We had also breakfast which was decent and adequate. We discovered some nice pubs nearby and cafes. We would definitely book again.

Does what it says on the tin
We went here without great expectations (given the price and previous feedback). The beds were clean, rooms very basic, and the hotel is very well located (couple of minutes from Paddington Tube Station). The breakfast was also basic - cereal, toast etc, but adequate. The hotel could be doing with modernisation, or at least freshening up with new carpets, curtains etc. Staff were friendly and helpful.
