Superb service in luxury accommodation
We booked a weekend break at the Rocpool reserve for our anniversary sadly we were unable to get a hot tub suite however we had a lovely decadent room (no 4) located next to the bar area. The accommodation was first class. As previous reviews have indicated we were welcomed in the car park by 2 staff ready to take our luggage who even knew who we were without asking - they were very patient as we off loaded our motorbikes and before we knew it our luggage and ourselves were in our room - no tedious booking in here ! The service was impeccable, dinner was superb and breakfast lived up (and more) to its 5* rating. Cocktails in the bar were wonderful and there was a lovely lunch and evening menu which was very reasonable for a 'boutique' venue. A perfect location for the town (you can walk to the bars and restaurants within 5 mins). Everything you need is provided including a turn down service which included refreshed towels, water, homemade biscuits etc. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who suffered our wet bike gear and made us so very welcome. This is a little gem and we will certainly be back !

Excellent city boutique hotel with amazing restaurant
As we arrived in the car park we were met, given a warm welcome an our luggage taken inside. Our Room (No 1) was split level with an incredible and large downstairs bathroom with double shower and freestanding bath. The bedroom was well appointed with very soft and cosy bed linens, I-pod docking, Wi-Fi, pod coffee machine, etc. The room is right by the road but it's a city hotel so you have to expect some traffic noise. We had drinks in the bar before dinner and there was a good selection and reasonably priced. Our only niggle was when my husband chose a sauvignon at ¿¿12 a glass thinking it would be good but it wasn't that great - maybe just a matter of personal taste. We relaxed in some comfy leather sofas and chose from the Albert Roux a la carte menu - mostly French country cooking with a twist - the outstanding starter has to be the Souffle - which was like a savoury ile flottant (floating souffl¿¿ in a creamy light cheese sauce with mull cheddar and gruyere cheeses. Mains included ribeye, duck, fish and desserts a chocolate fondant, rhubarb cream, a good cheeseboard. Service was was slick, friendly and professional. Breakfast choice and quality was excellent, but service a little slow - didn't matter to us as we were happy to enjoy the experience. Would definitely go back for dinner and gave it 5 stars - with probably 4.5 stars for the hotel.

wonderful accommodations.
We arrived the week after the Boston bombing & were a little down. As we arrived a piper ( our driver's nephew) began playing the bagpipes as a staff of three came out to greet us & carry our bags to our rooms ( traveled w/ 38 yo son). We had a room ( #4 ) that had a sitting room & a bathroom that was larger then the room at the airport hotel. The towels were 6 feet long & on a heated rack. The bed was excellent w/ good pillows. We also had a separate seating area w/ a 2nd television. The bar had an excellent (as expected) selection of scotches. Breakfast was prepared & served in a window alcove. Fresh orange juice, eggs your way & Scottish salmon. Wonderful breads w/ different jams. The staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Amazing boutique hotel
I just stayed here for 3 nights during a recent trip from the US to Scotland. We were greeted by staff coming out to our van to welcome us and bring our bags inside. The lobby is light and lovely. I don't know how many rooms they have, but I don't think it's more than 10 or so. All of the staff are very nice, knowledgeable of the local area and very helpful.My room was big, with a huge comfortable bed and the bathroom was big and modern. I do wish the lights in the bathroom could be a little brighter or maybe a light directed right over the sink. There are only glass windows separating the room from the bathroom and it is mostly etched glass but you can see through the edges which was a little disconcerting. Big plus is that there is free WiFi throughout the hotel and you can plug in a network cable, if you have one, in every room. We had some special needs with kosher food we had brought with us and the chef and staff of Chez Roux were very helpful and accommodating of our needs. The hotel is a short work from the downtown area of Inverness and even shorter walk from Inverness Castle.

I feel the hotel is just a smudging off a 5 but couldn't bring myself to give it a 4.Yes, the interior and the rooms are lovely but the hotel is lacking the tiniest bit of sparkle for me, I have tried to put my finger on what exactly and I think it is because there are no real views from any of the rooms or the restaurant and although there is a nice terrace where you can have a drink - again, there is no view, thankfully, Chez Roux more than compensates for this - the food is divine, and even if you don't dine there in the evening you will still sample some delights at breakfast.It is by far the loveliest hotel you could stay in in Inverness and is in a good location, with the town centre only being a 10 minute walk awayI will definitely be back to Chez Roux and, although I would recommend the hotel, I feel a bit like I've done it and got the t-shirt now.
